Scammers pretended to be my KeyBank car payment bill by using a different address Charlotte, NC instead of Cleveland , Ohio the usual address. I sent it out, not realizing until I got a late payment bill. Both look similar except for the black lines in the upper corners of the bill were lacking the same shape as the real one. So KeyBank never received the payment that I sent out on 1-28-2024. I do not have a phone due to hackers' but borrowed my son's. The girl who answered (I forgot her name) Asked me to spell my name and asked for my middle initial, then said there was two of us with the same name. I also heard voices in the background, got suspicious and hung up. I am afraid to call KeyBank back because I believe that Hackers are cutting into their calls and I am not used to hearing voices in the background when I have called there in the past. The real address is at the top left of the page which is KEYBANK PO BOX 94722 CLEVELAND,OHIO 44101-4722. If only I had stopped and looked when I got that odd feeling! This form did not allow me to put the dollar sign or decimal point so the correct amount is $164.82; but I rounded off to $165 due to computer problem as stated on February 28, 2024.

Please help me, thank you.

Yours Truly, [Consumer name and address redacted by ScamPulse.com staff]

PS: Reminder, I have no phone to use right now. Also, I am not sure if the PO Box was a correct number, nor the zip code I sent it to, but it did not go to the right place!

Today at around 1:15pm today, I was called by a number that my caller ID labelled Key Bank. The number was (518) 587-2405. The caller attempted to inform me that there was a suspicious charge on my AMEX credit card for $400.00 at Walmart.com. I do not have an account with Key Bank, but they did know certain details about me and my Amex card. They asked for all the information on my AMEX card, my birthday, last 4 of SSN, and mother's maiden name. However, this suspicious charge was not actually on my Amex account, as I verified later with American Express customer service. This was a clear attempt at spear fishing and one thing I discovered after the call was that the 518 number is a legitimate number for Key Bank. After I blocked the Key Bank phone number, I was contacted repeatedly by a number my caller ID flagged as spam, 605 549-5992, which is associated with spearfish, SD.

I received a call today and it showed KeyBank on the caller ID which I thought was my bank calling. When I answered the phone it was a gentleman asking me if I had health insurance and was asking me for my social security number which I did not give him. I asked him why he was asking me that if he was with a bank and he hung up.

I am reporting a fraudulent phone call I received on my home phone yesterday. They left a message and a phone number. KeyBank. 1-888-405-4717. I called him back. I don't have his name. I called the number back that they left. It was the same number in my caller ID. He answered KeyBank. He stated someone attempted to use my credit card. For About $400. Then he said he can help me solve this problem if I give my credit card number. I did not give my number. I told him I am not going to do that. He is a scammer. I did not give him a chance to say anything. I hung up on him. I called KeyBank and reported it. I called KeyBank at the phone number on my credit card. The representative checked and there is no fraudulent activity on my credit card. She said I did the right thing not giving any information and hanging up on him. I am reporting this scam call.

A nicely spoken lady called and left a voice message with a contact number as follows: 855 574 8228 . She said on my voice message that the call was intended for my husband and said his name and that she was from Key Bank Fraud Dept., She said they needed to speak to him regarding some recent activity on his account and quoted the last 4 digits of his account, She repeated the number above for him to call three times in total. I myselt tried to find out who owned this number but found nothing so am assuming it is a scam. The number that I believe called me is 567-237-9661 as this is the only number showing on my mobile today as a missed called and "scam likely" written above the number on the screen.

Got a text message claiming to be from Key Bank stating there's been a suspicious transaction on my account and my account has been locked. I must click a link in order to unlock it.

Text message from a phone number impersonating my bank, indicating that my debit card ending in #### had been locked. Provided a phone number for me to call to unlock. Phone number was not the normal number for my bank. Didn’t call the number, called my bank to confirm status of card.

This is the third day in a row these people have called my house and cell numbers, leaving messages to call back. I confirmed with my bank that this is a false caller as my bank leaves automated messages for alerts and such. Usually the person's voice has an Asian Indian accent. Most persistent scam caller I've come across. Don't know how they got both my numbers and name, probably online somehow. One time it was a man with a very thick accent, last two times it was a woman. Not sure what they're trying to obtain but I've never answered.

- Buffalo, NY, USA

attempted to obtain social security and account information under the guise of account info compromised;

Keybank has indicated that they DO NOT contact account holders by TEXT. Suggested immediate deletion

Received a text massage stating my KeyBank account has been closed and to please give them a call back ASAP.
