Report Keller Williams Realty Imposter - Apartment Rental Scam

I recently got scammed by someone pretending to run a legit business. I paid a $350 “fee” thinking it was part of a real service, but in the end, I lost a total of $4,750. Turns out their website is fake, and they’re using someone else’s real business name to look legit.

Don’t make the same mistake I did — always double-check before sending money. Stay safe.

I was looking for apartment rental listings and came across a video on Instagram, this video had a phone number on it to text for more information. I went ahead and texted the number for a viewing/tour of the place. The person who was behind that phone number gave me a break down of the "Apartment Requirements" I had to complete If I wanted to get a viewing the place. Before viewing, the person told me I had to pay a certain amount for the application fee to get a viewing of the place. So, I went ahead and pay the amount through zelle. After paying, I received an email with an appointment date of confirmation, turns out that I couldn't get make it for that day so I let them know if I can have a change of appointment. The person said I can change my appointment after paying the first month's rent and a security deposit, I went ahead and payed all the amount through zelle and never got a viewing. In fact, I did receive another confirmation for my appointment to view the apartment but on top of that the person told me I had to pay the brokers fee upfront before viewing after already paying the 1st months' rent and security deposit. Up until this day, I have not received a refund even though the application sent through my email had a refund policy nor did I ever receive a tour/ viewing of the place.
