Jakub Duda interviewed me for a Video Editor / Content Creator remote position.

I was contacted by Jakub Duda for a Video Editor / Content Creator remote position. When I searched him online, I discovered he is the CEO of KANNAWAY. I thought it was strange that the CEO would be handling recruitment for KANNAWAY, but participated in the interview he conducted with me on the WIRE app, which he requested I download for the purpose of the interview.

I’ve only provided emails and phone numbers of two professional references he requested and a link to my portfolio. Nothing more this far, as I am still in the process of being considered for the position…

I had a weird interview over text where improper grammar was used. And they tried to say that I would buy a laptop with my own credit card. Very sketchy.

Saw a post on FB advertising $30 an hour work from home doing data entry

Just like everyone else says - this guy Blake Schroeder “interviews” you

asks if you have a printer / scanner … asks what credit card you use, and what your limit is.

He’s rude, and if you ask about the job description, he condescends to you. Then he immediately flatters you and tells you how perfect you are for the job

Wish i hadn’t sent my drivers license and mailing address and phone number ?‍♀️

But at least they got no more info

When i told him i had read all these reviews of them being a scam he suddenly went from being rude to being very charming

Beware of Ms. Anabel Johnson who I've contacted through her job post on job hiring for Data Entry position. I have a bad feeling about this being a scam as it is like to good to be true . She told me to message on hangouts the Hiring Manager which is the so called Blake Schroeder which is the CEO himself. He asks for my Bank account eventhough I told him that I have paypal which he can use for payment transfer. I started to finalized my thoughts of this being a scam when I started to ask him if the job interview can be done on a video call setup as I want to make sure. He refuses, telling that this is the process. I really know that CEO's of a big company have someone who is responsible for the recruitment process. I decided to clock his account for him not to contact me anymore

She tried to scan me. She came up empty on this one! I applied on Facebook and was told to go to hangouts and add [email protected] to initialize the interview. She then proceeded to ask questions that were more reminecent of a date than a job interview. That's were the fight started...

Answered a FB post. Was asked to add Mrs. Lillian Gustavo on Hangouts. Being that I watch a lot of Catfish, I was aware that this was a scam at that point. She tried to ask for my names, sex, and location as if it were a dating site. I explained that the questions she asked were illegal to ask and sounded more like dating questions than interview questions. She never answered back.

One of many apparently, was contacted for an Administrative Assistant position for “Kannaway LLC”. I was hired on, but uncomfortable about the situation, interviewing with zoom, understandable.. Not hangout app all via text. That was red flag one. Then once I was “hired” they go into we will send you a check for the software.. Red flag 2, your sending me a free laptop, why isn’t the software already on it? I’ve worked from home before, nothing about this seemed “normal” Apparently I was going to meet with the area director to fill out my W-4 and I9 forms. No one has contacted me yet, but I will be sure to have some fun when they do.
I bought into it, until they mentioned depositing a check. I’m aware enough not to fall for that one!

My wife found a job posting on facebook, the job was posted by Janessa Jane. My wife inquired about it and responded to Janessa Jane who then told my wife someone would be in contact with her about the job. So apparently the CEO of Kannaway, Blake Schroeder, contacted my wife via the Google Hangout app for a data entry job interview. He requested a picture of my wife's drivers license, which she provided. He was then asking for her credit card information, this is where my wife felt this might not be legit. She then declined the job offer and Blake Schroeder kept assuring her of the legitimacy of this job. I told my wife a CEO of a company would not be contacting anyone for an interview...they have folks that handle those things for them.

He took all my personal information and my address and sent me a fake check for $2000 and wanted to deposit to my account and buy all what I wanted to start working from home. I initially inquired about a job opening with a lady named Kaneota Coulston through facebook as she had posted on social media looking for candidates. She said to contact the hiring manager through google hangout at [email protected] using the code Fed4959 for my online interview.I was asked for name, physical address, phone number, sex, age, name of bank, and photograph for my file since I was "hired." I was a explained by a Mr. French T. Pierre that this was a home based data entry clerk position and that I needed specific equipment to start the training. After I told I will not be providing any bank account information, he said I will need an ebay card with $100 so he could add the other $400 to set up the portal and software for the materials that would be delivered to my home. As soon as Ebay was mentioned, I knew it was a scam.

I reached out to someone on Facebook regarding a job opportunity with a marijuana company. After speaking to him, I was informed it was an at-home position in data entry. I was contacted by the "company" via the Hangout app through google. It seemed too good to be true and a few red flags arose throughout the conversation. One being the odd broken English and typos. Another being that I was required to purchase a $50 google play gift card. Next they would send me a check for $2950 to use towards the purchase of a laptop and printer and other supplies. But those supplies needed to be purchased by their trusted distributor with a cash deposit which also struck me as odd. When I questioned it, I got vague answers and was told it was to show my trust and commitment to the company. That's when I got suspicious and started searching scam warning blogs and sites, including the BBB. All of the conversations I found were way too similar, so I knew it was a scam even though Kannaway LLC is a legitimate marijuana company in Canada. I contacted them via their website and was informed it was indeed a scam because they don't hire data entry positions off site. And they also didn't seem surprised with my inquiry. I was informed to report the people via the social medias sites. The scammers didn't give up when I called them out on the scam though. They were persistent and stuck with their story. The photo of the HR Manager came from the company's website as well (different job title though). Be very careful! If it seems to good too be true, it probably is.

The person: Gary Nicholes contacted me via Whatsapp. Said he will deposit money into accounts in order to purchase equipment for a stay at home job (data entry). Asked me to purchase google play cards, Itunes cards, and stream wallet cards and send him the codes, so that he can purchase the equipment needed without compromising credit card info. After a week, my accounts were all negatives. Every payment made to my accounts has been returned. (Checks bounced). I am now in thousands of dollars debt.

They arent registered with the ScamPulse.com and after I downloaded the "Hangout" app I got an attempted login from Brazil. When I asked initially if he was registered with the ScamPulse.com he said I had to finish answering all the questions and when I persisted he said no he wasn't registered.
