Person claims to teach Spanish fluency to English speakers in 3 months. I was watching a legitimate Spanish learning website online, and this person, Kale Anders, interrupted with a "free lesson" (which seemed worthwhile) followed by a "presentation" and offer of a program claiming to accomplish the above goal for $2997. This is much more than other learning methods I have used. Subsequent emails encouraged me to borrow money from a friend or use my credit card, which I didn't do. I have read Spanish emails from the same person claiming to teach English to Spanish speakers for $497; apparently the Latin American market won't bear a price of $2997 for similar services. These emails offer a job paying $10,000 US to Spanish speakers who learn English in 3 months, but no such offer exists for English speakers who learn Spanish, which seems like a double standard. The offer to English speakers said they could reach fluency with 15 min. a day for 3 months, which was later amended to an hour a day for 4-6 months, but the Spanish offer remains at a shorter period a day for 3 months. The initial claim of 3 months was a red flag for me, because I had previously tried another learning platform (Babbel) which has run radio ads saying they could get people to language competence for a few minutes a day in 3 months, but I got a refund from that company because they were not advanced enough for me, were inflexible, and offered group sessions only during the middle of the night. Mr. Anders' initial claim seemed unrealistic to me, and his high-pressure sales methods reminded me of "time share" presentations I have unfortunately attended. Please investigate to see whether he is legitimate and to help other English speakers, and maybe Spanish speakers too, avoid paying him a lot of money for services that he cannot deliver. I can send you copies of emails he has sent if that would help. Mr. Anders is from Sweden, has lived in Mexico, and says he currently lives in Medellin, Colombia. His email address is [email protected]; I sent one or two emails to that address, but have not gotten responses although emails from his company come from that address. Thank you.
