Type of a scam Identity Theft
I learned upon searching the number, on the internet, that the goal of the caller was to get me to say “yes” and record my voice to use it in a fraudulent way to likely obtain credit or fraudulently give my permission for something to be done or take place by misusing my voice recording, this is very dangerous to the public!!! I believe this person may have tried to obtain credit or give permission in my name had I answered “yes” to his question and confirmed my first name, which I did not do
He immediately hung up, when I researched his number, he calls people multiple times at random hours, clearly malicious and dangerous! I am categorizing this call as an attempt at identity theft. The call I received originated from Westminster, MA, according to internet search, many other individuals have been called; the objective of the caller appears to be to obtain and misuse voice recordings of the word “yes” to defraud the person answering the phone, possible identity theft.
