Internal Revenue Service(IRS) Reports & Reviews (271)

They are calling saying that you are being sued by the IRS and there's a warrant out for your arrest. When you call, the only ones you talk to are foreigners. They ask for personal information such as : birthdate, social security number and address. When you don't tell them any thing, they hang up.

Phone number keeps calling and says I owe money to the irs and that they are going to file a lawsuit if i do not pay.

Received an automated call (it was a recording) that stated they were calling from the IRS, then added it was the Internal revenue Service, stating that if we did not return the final call, then a lien would be made against our property/assets.

Realize total scam. they asked that we call 406.941.1648. They also called our home number from this same number.

Reporting this, hoping to stop the scam and make sure others are not fooled by it.

Recorded message indicating problems with our tax returns.

phone call message left Fri., 12:39 pm.. "an officer from the Internal Revenue Service. This is an official final notice to inform you that a lawsuit has been filed against you. Call 6465890194 immediately for further information." This message was left on our answering machine. We believe it to be a scam. We do not intend to respond to this message. We do not know if they were asking for money as we did not return the call.

My wife received a message on her cell phone from someone claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service and she needed to contact them regarding a pending lawsuit against her. She called the number left on her voicemail and she reached a pre-recorded message with a direct number to call:

361-436-0300

When she dialed the above phone number, there were no telephone prompts to identify the number as connecting you to the IRS. Her call was answered after three rings by a man with a thick Indian accent. She hung up after speaking with him for a short time. I call the number back myself. After intensely questioning the man about the legitimacy of the initial contact, he called me a “b**ch” and a “big as***le”.

They sent me a email stating they made a error on a tax report that I have to open this word document to see the reason of the error and I have to open it within 24 to 72 hours. Which I didn't trust opening. I called the phone number and it came through as a non working number.

Attached, is a copy of your 2015 Tax Return Report which was recently filed and approved. Our system has generated an error after processing it, which require your immediate attention.

Kindly download the attached document to view full report and reason for this error. You need to respond to this within the next 24-72 working hours

Caller stated that the Internal Revenue Service was going to file a lawsuit against me.

caller explains the IRS has tried to make contact several times and will now arrest without immediate payment of back taxes.

They claimed to be the Investigation department of IRS. They left two messages on my cell phone in a 3 hour span of time. They claimed they were calling to let me know they had found a tax issue that I there was a fraud and misconduct and that I had hidden something on my taxes from the government. They said it was urgent and important and I need to call them back immediately.

When I called back the same person answered the phone each time from my cell, but there was no answer or voicemail from my office phone. I believe they have my cell number and knew to answer the call from that number. The person who answered the call had a heavy Indian-sounding accent and said his name was Officer Kevin Fall. When I asked him to repeat it, he hung up on me.

Both the voicemails were 44 seconds long robotic voice calls.

I have received numerous phone calls from a recorded operator saying the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and to immediately call (phone number) to get more information about the case file. Today, the call was from 712 823 8283; yesterday the call was from 812 369 8423.

Other than blocking the calls from my cell phone, how do I make these calls stop?

Just wanted "someone" to be aware these calls are happening.

have received several phone messages left by robot with the following message:

"Message is extremely time sensitive. I am officer Nicky Johnson from Internal Revenue Service and the hotline to my division is 202-754-9182. Either Pete X. 202-754-9182. Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you. Goodbye and take care."

called consumer and stated they are with the IRS this is a final notice or they will file a lawsuit they need to contact the IRS immediately

received one call in May and now another in June. My phone is unlisted number. First call stated it was imperative I call them as there is a possible law suit going to be filed against me. Second call was a final notice that the IRS has filed a lawsuit against me and I need to contact them immediately at above number.

I am getting calls from 315-140-6295 threatening me with a lawsuit. I don't owe back tax and these people are not the IRS. I have already contacted local law enforcement about these calls.

At 8:11 am June 21 , 2016 I recieved on my answering machine a robo call about the final notice about the IRS attempting to contact me about filing a lawsuit against me and I need to call this number.

I am receiving robo call voice messages suggesting I call 903-339-9374 because the IRS is about to sue me. I know if the IRS wants to contact someone they do it via written correspondence. This seems like a scam to get personal information and then use it to potentially steal a person's identity. Some people, particularly older people may fall for this. Please investigate. Thank you.

A female voice left message on answering machine threatening a law suit had been filed to collect delinquent taxes. I was instructed to call 360-208-1901.

Three times the week of June 5th, 2016, a message was left on my home phone that the IRS was suing me for unpaid taxes.

at 4:24 P.M. June 13, 2016, the home phone rang. With caller ID reading "wireless caller", I waited to answer until I was certain the call was personal. The recorded voice said, "This call is officially a final notice from IRS, Internal Revenue Service. The reason for this call is to inform you the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you. To get further information, call 937-703-8457." I am 100% certain this was a scam attempt.
