- Salem, OR, USA

I just had a phone call this morning that I missed and I listened to the message and it said that it was some officer from the IRS calling and I had a some issue where I was included in tax evasion and I needed to call this number back so I called the number back and just Hispanic man answers and says that he is an officer so and so I don't remember his name and he said that have I filed any taxes in The Last 5 Years. I'm on disability for more than 10 years now so I haven't filed taxes this whole time and as soon as I said those words they hung up and I tried to call the number back and it won't even ring it just says that this number is not accepting calls at this time or something to that effect.

recorded lady's voice said please call a number this is your last opportunity before to settle this matter with the internal revenue service

I recieved a phone call and didn’t answer so they left a voicemail. When i listened to it , it was saying to act immedeatly because the IRS was suing me for not paying taxes or something like that but i called back out of curiosity and they said it was a federal agent and that they were suing me and i said No you are not because they would have contacted me by mail first. He said they had attempted to contact me multiple times and i said NO YOU DIDN’T. I know you are a scam because a bot left a voicemail, you didn’t contact me by mail first and i dont file for taxes because i have never been employed and i get listed as a dependant and that i have no income and he said that they had made a mistake and that i owe and so i said well if that was really true you would be contacting the person who was filing not me and that i was going to go to the police and he said i had no authority to do that then told me to *** *** *** and started yelling innapropriate things to me. Beware.

THIS SOUNDED LIKE A RECORDED MESSAGE, SOMEWHAT GARBLED: "THIS IS A FEDERAL OFFENSE AND IT REGARDS TAXES OWED TO THE IRS. YOU HAVE 2 HOURS IN WHICH TO RESPOND OR YOU WILL BE ARRESTED AND TAKEN IN TO CUSTODY FOR TAX EVASION". THIS WAS THE MESSAGE I RECEIVED THE SECOND (2ND) TIME I WAS CALLED. THE FIRST TIME I CALLED BACK IN THE ATTEMPT TO GET A BETTER IDEA AS TO WHO WAS CONTACTING ME. I WAS ASK FOR MYCASE NUMBER, FULL NAME AND DOB; I REFUSED TO GIVE OUT ANY INFO AND HUNG UP. THE FIRST CALL WAS AT 10:02 a.m. on 12/04/18, THE SECOND CALL WAS RECEIVED AT 2:12 P.M. ON 12/04/18. BOTH CALLS WERE FROM THE SAME PHONE NUMBER AND SOUNDED LIKE A RECORDING OF A WOMEN; A MAN ANSWERED THE CALL BACK NUMBER AND HE HAD A VERY DISTINCT ACCENT.

Robocall Voicemail: "The IRS. The reason to reach you is to let you know that the IRS has filed a lawsuit against your name for tax evasion. So before anything goes wrong, give us a call back as soon as possible at our call back number, which is 425-660-9344. I repeat, it's 425-660-9344. Thank you."

Received call from a Maryland number and let it go to voicemail. The message left claimed the call came from the IRS warning of a lawsuit over taxes and I was to call the Maryland number back. I’ve received two calls from the same number and received the same message. I know I don’t have any pending lawsuits with the IRS.

- San Anselmo, CA, USA

A computer recording left a message stating the IRS had a warrant for my arrest and that I needed to call the number back to avoid seizure of property.

I called the number and stated it seemed like a scam. The man who answered the number started cursing at me, “you think this is a [censored]ing scam!? We’re going to find your [censored]ing husband in the night.” I hung up after a few sentences.

It was really upsetting.

A gentleman, who called himself David Fisher, and had an Asian accent called me. He said I owed money to the IRS and would go to jail if payment wasn't made to them inordinately .

A guy come me stating he going to put me a jail if I don't call this number 360-322-4853 several time a day.  He said I owe them money.  i told him I on Social Security.  He has arabin accent, i have until midnight to call them back.

Robot voice telling me they are watching my place of business and household accounts. That they will put me in jail.

Said you need to call this number back or you will be arrested or there is a warrant out for your arrest. This was a message left on my answering machine. It sounded like an answering machine or automated. It shows up on the CallerID as Relief 4 Pain.

- Largo, FL, USA

They left a message on my answering machine saying that they're the IRS and they're going to sue me, then said thank you and hung up.

- Cincinnati, OH, USA

Voicemail saying that I had 24 hours or police would be called. Usual tactics for this scam.

- Middleton, ID, USA

I received a phone call and voice message from 903-420-1702. Text of the message is: "from the headquarters which will get expired in 24 working hours and once again expired after that you will be taken under custody by the local police as there are four serious allegations pressed on your name at this moment we would request you to get back to us so that we can discuss about this case before taking any legal action against you the number to reach us is . . ."
