We’re selling a car and we were contacted by someone claiming to be in my town. They knew information about neighborhoods and local things. He wanted a report to show the history of the car and said something like carfax or inspexic. He said he preferred inspexic and it was cheaper. So we purchased the report and received a virus file back. When we did more research we found that inspexic was a scam company and their number is a scam. The number the buyer gave me was a spoofed number of a phone in Wisconsin. We didn’t realize it was a scam until too late.
