I believed I was on Marriott's website when I booked 2 nights at the Akron Fairlawn courtyard for $126.00 per night, and 1 night at the Springfield Suites Columbus OSU hotel for $262.80. When I received my receipts, there were charges as follows: Tax and recovery Fees, $479.82, Room fees totaling $442.23, for one hotel (Springfield) and there were charges of $455.87 including tax and recovery fees of $166.95, Room charges of $420.16 including $83.48 in tax and recovery fees for both nights. I had 6 different charges over $420 each on my credit card. I called my bank immediately to report fraudulent charges and had to cancel my credit card. This was obviously a re-directed site to secure2.room77.com/res. I had no intention of booking through a 3rd party. When I called the hotel, they see the reservations was booked through Expedia but when I checked with Expedia, they had no record of the itinerary. I have tried to cancel these and they are showing cancelled, but this site needs to be taken down and fined before they really do get someone's money.
