We purchased a duct cleaning voucher from Groupon and the company that arrived was different from the one listed. Upon arrival, they informed us that the Groupon did not include the cleaning of six mains and two return vents, and that there would be an additional charge of $437. Since we had never had the ducts cleaned before, we decided to proceed with the service. However, after only 25 minutes, the technician claimed to have finished the job and insisted on immediate payment before my husband returned home. He refused to accept credit card payment, which was not specified in the Groupon, and demanded payment through Zelle or Venmo. I asked him to wait until my husband arrived, and even then, he refused credit card payment and reluctantly accepted a check. My husband, who is knowledgeable about duct cleaning, informed me that the process typically takes around two hours. Upon inspection, we discovered that the vents were still full of dust and debris. We contacted the company, took photographs of the ducts and their work truck, and discovered that the phone number they provided was linked to 17 different businesses.
