Cannabis delivery site asks for extra insurance fee
Paid $100 on CashApp for order, then asked for $399 more
Cannabis delivery order not received after $100 Cash App payment
After receiving the payment, the seller claimed that my name could not be found in a verification system. They said a “Declared Value Fee” was required under new state dispensary regulations before the delivery could proceed. They directed me to https://stateverifymc.com/certificate-of-insurance/ to pay an additional supposedly refundable insurance fee.
I did not pay the additional fee. The insurance demand, pressure to pay immediately, and claim that the fee was required by state regulations appear to be fraudulent. The original $100 has not been refunded, and no merchandise was received.
