Used a disabled Veteran making birdhouses for purchase. The metal birdhouse is way too small for a bird and you can tell it's not home made. Will pursue through Paypal.Return address is CA.

I found an ad with pictures on Facebook about a wounded veteran with both legs amputated trying to care for his hospitalized sick mother by hand-crafting stained glass birds on a branch. I read reviews that looked legitimate, so I ordered a pair for $24.50 plus shipping etc. I became suspicious when my package did not arrive for a couple of weeks and I immediately thought of those cheap products from China. Unfortunately, I was right. There is no wounded veteran and the product is not hand-crafted stained glass. It is a piece of cheap sheet plastic with dull colors on one side cut out to resemble the birds in the ad. It also came with a round piece that I guess you are supposed to glue the birds to. It is really ugly! I used PayPal for my purchase and I found this email: Contact info - HUG [email protected]. I will pursue this with PayPal as well. The return address on the box is: Jane, 3 Lincoln Dr., Fairfield, NJ 07004.

They offered to give me 20% of the purchase back and I could keep the birds. I said no. They then offered me 40% and I keep the birds. I said no again. Then they proceeded to tell me it would take a month after I send back the birds to refund my money and that sending them back at my own expense would be very costly - "at least $20" they said. They are trying to work me. I am holding out for the time being to see if I can get a full refund. So angry!

I think purchasing stuff from Facebook is not a good idea as any freak could put anything on there to sell and scam you. Tracking them down may be the hard part. AT least PayPal will help.
