My Garage door broke so I asked Siri to find me a Garage Door Repair Company to come out and fix my garage. Siri provided a phone number (888) 698-2703 to Rodgers Roll Top garage doors in Englewood, Fl. on Lantana St and asked if she wanted me to call them, I said yes and she called them for me. The number that she call was 888-698-2703 and a man answered and said I think we can get someone out tonight (I said no not needed tonight don't send anyone) Then I received a call from Bob (caller id of ************) who claimed he was calling from Rogers Roll Top Garage and said he can come out in 1 hour to fix my garage and it would not cost me any extra money. I told him he did not need to come now this could wait until tomorrow but he ended up showing up at 8pm. When he showed up he looked at the garage and said the springs needed to be replaced and gave me an estimate of $365. I approved the repair of the springs and they started work, then he and his partner started doing more work and repairs and told me these repairs were necessary, it happened so quickly I did not approve these repairs and didn't realize what was going on. Next thing I know they showed me a broken piece and said the motor is currently working but it may not working and you need a new motor (Quoted $1,700) - he replaced the motor with my approval, because he led me to believe mine was bad. Once they were done, I asked for the warranty info of the new motor and he said you don't need one its just like the motor we replaced. Once they were done we sat down and he started writing up the bill and itemizing all the things he claimed that he did. The total came to $8,763. I was horrified and he made me feel obligated to pay this sine he claimed these were the repairs that were made. So I paid him with my visa credit card and he left. I didn't sleep all night and realized I had been scammed. Me and my friend started making calls to the phone number on the receipt as we realized the receipt said Garage Door Service and Phone number of (855) 500-3687 and NOT Rogers Roll Top Garage who I thought I was doing business with. We left messages and a Manager named Leo called my friend back from phone number ***** ******** and told my friend that the reason the bill was $8,763 was because they came out on a Sunday and said I requested the best parts, which I never did. We disputed the charges with the manager and said we felt like we were way overcharged and the manager said there was nothing he could do. Then I called my credit card company to dispute the charges and they said I cannot do anything until the charge goes through. I called the Charlotte County Sheriff to report this and they are looking into this and they referred me to file a report to the Better Business Bureau as well.

Bob the tech who scammed me came in an hour

************ He said I wanted the best parts and it was a Sunday

charge.

I asked them to wait until Monday but they insisted on coming and arrive at 8 pm.

I thought they were from a local business. They said they were contractors for them. They agreed they were on Lantana.

They said it would be $345 for the rollers . I agreed to that. Then they kept adding parts and told me my motor was going to die and showed me a broken part so I agreed to the motor. I did not realize that he was going to charge hundreds for all the extra parts. He never even asked my permission to put the additional parts on. I did not realized the motor was grossly over priced. I asked for the brochure from the motor box.

. He said there was not one that it was just like the other one.

Remember he never gave me another quote.

It was all very smooth. He knew exactly what he was doing.
