My father was looking for a new garage door opener. He looked up on the computer and found 800-991-7092. Was told someone would be out in an hour. Someone showed up named Sean and quoted him $3800 for the garage door opener and $1000 for install. My father is 83 years old, with dementia, told him ok. The work was completed before my dad contacted me about it. I went to my dads house in the afternoon and looked at the work then the invoice. The opener, they installed, was listed on multiple websites, Home Depot, Lowes etc, for $209. I called 2 replicable garage door companies and was quoted $750 from one and $775 from the other.

My wife messaged a man to repair our garage door. He said he lived in our neighborhood on Secret Street, so we hired him. He sent another person to do the job (another sub). The sub did not know Curtis, the guy we contacted, which I thought was strange. He did not fix our problem with the garage door, we still have a gap at the top of the door, and the top rollers are on an angle on both sides. We did not notice the shoddy workmanship until after he left and after we paid him $220. I tried texting and calling the Tech at 850-353-1379, but no one answered. I messaged Curtis Norfleet (585-552-7546), whom I hired, and he said he is out of town and he would take care of it. I told him I want my money back. I looked into it, and he does not live in our neighborhood after all; it was lie after lie. They gave me three different company names, and I checked with the Better Business Bureau and Google, and none of them came up. Galdiator Door Services, Door & Gate Services, and Garage Door Services.

Garage Door Repair Co. Scam (844-661-1824)

The company is a scam. Invoice says, Garage Door Repair as the name, but the truth is there is no business name or address. They are just scammers on the other end of the line waiting to hook you up with unlicensed garage technicians. They installed a new garage door for me, and two months later the cable completely failed. They will not put me in touch with the same technician, nor will the discuss the warranty with me. The technician who installed the door won't return my calls. To fix the cable, they canceled on me three consecutive days. Finally, they showed up on the 4th day and started work without even calling me to let me know they were starting (I am the landlord so I don't live there), and they completed the whole job and left the site without ever telling me. They billed my tenants and left, despite me making it very clear on each of the prior three days NOT to deal with the tenants, but to call me when they get there. The scammers on the phone will not discuss warranty with you, they just say they have no idea about it and that you have to ask the technician. I have no recourse to get my money back or dispute this, because no matter how hard you press on the phone they will not give you a business address. COMPLETE SCAM.

Beware - this "company" will scam you out of marked up service and parts that you don't need.

Follow the address here and on their fake website. The local SCV goes to a storage location.

Got all on video to look back on. Quoted $175 for a new spring - they didn't say this was each and there were two until I went to pay. I fell for an upgrade that was not really an upgrade.

Caught this all on video and was able to go back to review. They showed me parts that were worn and needed replaced. They put my old parts in my trash can - after comparing those parts to the ones shown on video, it's clear it wasn't even my part!

They say they will call you back and don't. When I got ahold of "John", he was super rude and hung up on me when I simply asked about the installer taking pictures of various things in my garage.

I shouldn't have felt pressure in fixing my garage and should have spent a little more time looking into various options. Don't make my mistake.

I initially called what seemed to be a local company but the 1 866 923 1201 number made me suspicious and after I found out they were a mobile service rejected them. I had called another company too and the appointment was cancelled for a routine maintenance job. Then suddenly a tech showed up at my door and in confusion thinking it was a legitimate company I had called answered the door and since he was already there had them lubricate the springs and rail. He suggested I change the roller/wheels which I accepted and when he was done he slapped me with a 1400 bill. Total scam. I feel so stupid about it. They are criminals in sheep's clothes. I am surprised they are not arrested for scamming.

Type of a scam: Worthless Problem-solving Service Scam

Apple Maps shows this phone number for A1 Garage Door Service in Torrance. Everything on the site shown is correct, including the company name, address, and website; however, the phone number connects you to someone else representing themselves as A1. When service is complete, their receipt shows the name Garage Door Service, no address, email or website. It has only a phone number 866-923-1201. I reported this in the A1 Garage Door Service Yelp site and I found that another report about this had also been posted. I believe I was heavily overcharged for services and told I needed garage door service that was not required. I have also notified A1 Garage Door Services, who I have used and been very pleased with in the future, of what occurred.

Fox garage doors is NOT OUT OF BUSINESS, news stations all across the country have exposed them including dateline nbc.

These guys operate in most major cities under multiple names, copycat names etc. In the cincinnati market alone I know there are about 15 names. They run in the reach magazine but change the name about every 6 months or so. The techs are required to maintain a ticket average of over $500 , if the repair is less they can not leave the driveway without calling the office. I'm a repairman myself and have been behind them on jobs completing basic repairs for a $59 service fee that GDS had quoted for $1000 or more. Fox garage doors, dayton garage doors, cincinnati garage doors, west chester garage doors, Monroe garage doors etc...pick a city and add garage doors to it and it will lead you to them.
