I have been receiving calls for two months now from what sounds like the same man, over and over off of different phone numbers (most of them are listed above.) The man claims to work for the government each time but his reason for calling always changes. One minute he is offering financial assistance to help pay off my student loans and the next he is here to help me with my medical bills. I DO NOT HAVE EITHER. I feel like I'm being harassed and it is driving me nuts. He constantly is calling off of a different number and when I confront him about how I know it is a scam he gets very angry and yells and then hangs up on me.

Consumer thought she was calling her friend, but her friend's phone number has been hacked. The person who picked up was someone claiming to be her friend saying she can get $5,000 from Federal Government for a $150 fee.

Asked for me by first name...not random...Said I qualified for a $9000.00 Federal Grant...I told him where he could shove his scam because I didnt have time for his BS!!!

My name is *** *** I did not give out no bank account information or social security number but they got my name and address and age and they're telling me that I'm through the federal government trying to get $9,000 give into me they wanted my bank account number the number they gave me is 315-303-2748 they're calling from 315 area code they're trying to scam me everyday but something's telling me something or something

Received phone call from them first claiming they were the Federal Government and I was chosen to receive a one time $9000.00 grant for free-no strings attached. I could use this on anything I wanted to except it had to be legal. They said I was chosen from a survey across the US. Operator was foreign and I had trouble understanding her. I had to call back the 2nd number(both said Washington DC) and verify this was true with her supervisor and then I would get it mailed to me. I never gave any info out-she knew my name and the zip code I lived in. I called back and the lady that answered said Hello what do you want/need-I told her I was supposed to call her back. They also gave me a 5 letter/number code to give her. When I said I was supposed to call you-she said oh yea ok give me the code-I did. She was also foreign asking me how I wanted to receive money(no info given again on my part)-very hard to understand but it got to in order to receive this money you need to go online and buy an I Tune gift card and I said I would not do that and she magically disconnected the call. They never called back and neither did I. I only called back because I have been trying to get loans/grant for my kids for college so I wanted to make sure it wasn't tied into that since they insisted they were the Federal Government.

This number just called 1206/400/7041 me and said they we're from the federal government! A woman named Kelly and a man named calvin Morgan. They said I qualify for a grant of 8,000.00 because I have been a good citizen than they said all I had to do was go Get a $200 prepaid card and call them back so they can load the money on the account and they would not take the 200 of my card! Thats when I said OK and told them I would call them back and now I'm reporting it to you guys! I'm a young woman I'm not that gulable but I would hate for this to happen to a poor old lady that's to sweet and kind. So please stop these horrible people before they scam more people thank you!

A guy called saying that it was calling from the federal government and i was rewarded by the united states government with a 7000 $ check. I asked them why would the government pay me this amount of money and they insulted me and hung up the phone.

Got a call stating I was chosen to receive $7000 for not having any felonies and something else, I could barley understand because the person had a very strong accent. I kept asking for verification of said monies and the reason but he kept saying it was coming from the federal government in New York state. He wanted me to go to Walmart then call him back at the number he gave and instructed me to stay on the line as he directs me how to fill out the form and he also asked that I do not mute my phone. Told me to bring my ID and cell. He said I needed to pay 269 which would be refunded right back to me along with the 7000 and that he would stay on the phone until I had said money in hand. No money list because I did not go. Its a scam his name was Cherles Scooper phone number he told me to call back is 347-518-1454. The address he provided was 200 Independence Southwest Ave. Washington DC 20201 triple HHH building. He also gave me a code CH123. PLEASE BEWARE.

K I got a call regarding my husband winning 7000$ #federal government yes the said that I said it sounds like a scam and he started getting rude calling me every but my name threatened me and I defended my self by saying some horrible stuff they talk to my husband and was doing same to him they said we could use Walmart money gram or our bank man this was so scary and degrading my four yr old in background of course no transfer of any funds but these people are treating people just for questioning them

Consumer was contacted by someone (at 512-837-4876) claiming to be from Federal Govt. They did not provide a agency or dept name. They said he had an $8,500 refund and that he just needed to provide them banking account and routing number over the phone.

I was called and offered a federal grant for being a good citizen and paying my taxes on time. They knew my first name, last name and cell number. They said they where the Federal Grant Commission and my grant was for $9100 and could receive it either by putting it on my credit card, into my bank or via moneygram. I hung up because I knew it was a scam.

i was sent a friend request from an already fb friend. I accepted assuming they started a new account. They then messaged me with small talk and spoke of a gov grant they just received. She gave me contact info to the person to assist me in seeing if i would qualify. i gave minimal information but they said i could get a grant. It was later they asked me to wire them 550.00 and they would send me cash and later would meet with me to form the business plan and put it in motion. I became suspicious and found that my friend had not in fact sent me the fb request. I did not send any money. The name of the person who was supposedly from the fed gov was James Roberts. The address they said to wire the money to via western union was Chanel Adams from Blackwood, NJ 08012. I quit responding. The number they texted me from was 904-373-8023.

Consumer received a call from someone who identified themselves as Carolyn Jones with the US Treasury. She told the consumer that they had been awarded a federal grant for $9,000. They just needed to wire them $200 to cover the fees to Federal Reserve Bank in NY.

Number 202-000-0010 called me multiple times in the last few days. I had already checked and knew it was a scam. Answered one call and before he got any further than federal grant, told him I knew it was a scam and to stop calling me or I would report them. Foreign accent man indeed called multiple times after that so I again answered and told him it was a scam. He assured me that it was not and wanted to let me know I was approved for a federal grant because I paid my taxes on time, my bills on time and have never been arrested. Told him again it was a scam, he gave me a website to check him out and realize it was not a scam. He was going to call me back the next day. I had already submitted a complaint on the do not call registry site. The website he gave me did not exist. When I googled federal grants scams I went to the FTC site and called and reported it again. This was on Tues the 9th. Needless to say they called many times on Wed. Told be FTC agent not to answer or to answer and hang up immediately. I did not let him get into his spiel to hear how much money or details. He wanted to know what to do with my "file". I did not say anything as I wanted to check things out. I wanted to tell him where he could put it but did not do that. Both my landline and cell phone are on the do not call list and have been for many years.

I keep getting a phone call from 661 944 6151 saying that they are calling from the federal government saying that they will give me money. And that I need to pay a small fee to get it from Western Union. When I go to ask questions they hang up on me. I call back to see who they are and its just a busy signal

Was contacted by someone claiming to be the Federal Government saying I won a $7000.00 loan for being a good citizen, paying my bills on time, and never being arrested. I was to put $285.00 on a Walmart card for "registration fees" and the "taxes" would cost me $1,500.00.

I received a phone call from someone claiming to be the Federal Government offering a grant of $9,000. They told me to go to Western Union and call them back when I got there.
