A man named Billy Winston called my cell phone saying that the federal government has a grant that I was eligible to receive for $9,000, and the money could be downloaded into my bank account, prepaid card, or wired to me on Tuesday evening. He said, that absolutely no money had to come out of my pocket because it’s free money. He said, because it was close to 8pm, I had to call back the next day to have the money deposited onto my prepaid card. I called on Wednesday like Billy Winston stated to do, and he stated that I had to fill out a registration card for a money gram at Walmart or any place that has money gram, and pay $200, then I will get the $200 back when he sends the $9,000, so $9,200 would get wired to me. My mom said to check with ScamPulse.com before going any further because it sounded like a scam to her because free money doesn’t have any upfront fees to get the money. When I called BBB, they checked the cell phone number that I was initially contacted from: 202-643-0732 and it was a cell phone number not a business number. The other number that he asked me to call him on the next day was: 646-350-6990. ScamPulse.com said that was a New York number not Washington, DC and it was definitely a scam! Beware of these types of calls or emails where people want you to send them money to receive money. When in doubt, it’s always best to check with ScamPulse.com to have a peace of mind before moving forward with something that could cause distress later. Hope my story helps others.

Was called by an automated system. Claimed to be a representative of the federal government. Told me that I qualified for a federal grant in the amount of 11,300. That I did not have to pay back. I was getting it because I pay my taxes on time I have not filed for bankruptcy and I have no criminal record. Told in order to get money registration number and western union tracking number I would need to go and purchase a green dot and put 250 on it and then call them back with the card number.

This number called about a government grant that I did not apply for something about 2009 loyalty Grant for$9,200 from an agent named Lisa Miller her phone number was 646-870-2840. She was a verification officer. Was told to contact 646-968-2478 with an ID number of AS151. To verify my grant when I call him I question about the grant and said it sounded like horse[censored] and he told me and I quote [censored] off. So I would like to report this number.

"How are you doing?" "Did you get a special delivery from the program yet? This program is real and legit. I'm so confused that you haven't heard of it yet. I'm the lucky winner of this program. I used the money to start a new life"

My daughter received a phone call from the "Federal Government" saying she had received a grant for $9000. They just needed her bank account so that they could transfer it. She was given a confirmation number to call, along with an activation code so that the grant was activated. Unfortunately she did give them the bank account number, but not the routing number. Then she called me. This smelled fishy so I did research to sure enough find that it was a scam. The bank was called and put on alert, however, all we can really do is close the account. I did call the number back to see who I would get. It was a man with a very hard to understand accent. I asked several questions to which all I got was they were the Federal Government. I let them know I knew they were scamming people, and I would be reporting them.

They call offering federal government grants for $9800 to be electronically deposited to your bank, credit card, or store via wire transfer. You must callback the above number to process grant. I asked for check via USPS which they said could not be done. I did not give them my info and via reverse lookup read several responses saying it was scam. Money is supposed to be held at Federal Reserve in New York

I was contacted today from 1-215-262-4231 saying part of the federal government and I had unclaimed money which would be delivered by UPS but I had to pay first 1000.00 processing fee then that amount was dropped to 550.00 and I could pay with my SSDI money. I didn't think the federal government would do this. I told them I couldn't except the money I suppose to win and all day they have continued to text me saying that they could wait for payment from my SSDI check for February.

They called me four times previously and did not leave a message. This was the first time they left a voicemail message on my cell phone. I kept receiving calls from a Washington number so I answered it. There was a women stating that the federal government was giving a 9 thousand dollar loan to people who pay their bills on time and haven't been in trouble. She did not ask for any info other than my name and were I lived. She then gave me a grant of # and a phone number to call in New York to talk with the account manager. This new women named "Anna" told me I needed to pay 200 dollars for Tec purposes and that I would get it right back. I new this was a scam so I refused to pay or give out my bank account number. She offered to do western union and such. I said no. I just want yo let people know that this is going on.
