I received a phone call from a Kevin Jones who stated that he worked for the federal government and that I had qualified for a government grant of $9,000. He gave me a code and a phone number and I was to immediately call back and they would give me directions on how to receive the cash they were going to give me. I was going to have to purchase 2 cards for $100.00 each and then they would load the cards with 4500 each and my 200 would be refunded. This sounded fishy to me so I looked it up on the internet and sure enough there were plenty of scams like this out there. Buyer beware

- Russellville, AR, USA

Agent called stating they work for the federal government and I was selected for a grant in the amount of $9,000 due to not having filed bankruptcy and never had felony charges. Caller(s) stated I would not have to pay the loan back and could use it to pay bills, remodeling my home etc. They did not ask for a fee but stated I could choose for money to be deposit into my bank account, use a western union or money gram with Walmart along with other options. I asked for paper work and if this was not a scam mail a check to my address. One agent told me the check could not be mailed because it could be stolen by the mail carrier. They always gave me a confirmation # to call back that consist of 2 letter and 3#'s. I was always giving a different phone # to call back each time but the area code was 202. I remember the name of one agent Adam. Is this a scam? Please research. 202-643-1281 and 202-753-4384. I did not take the offer.

Lady with a strong accent named Jennifer Williamson called and said I won 9000 because they ran my background and I had no legal issues and paid my bills on time I would just need to go to Rite Aid and load a prepaid card with 250 and call her back with the number.

I received a call on my cell phone today. My caller ID showed 315-442-5584. The caller said they were with the Federal Government. Selected ten people to receive a $9000 grant. It was a woman. She gave me an ID number of SB717. She said it is something you don't have to pay back. They could put it on my charge or deposit in bank account. She already had my name address and telephone number to verify. She instructed me to call Roger Johnson contact person to get the grant. His phone number is 347-352-8351. I called the number. He asked me to hold on five minutes. It didn't sound right. I hung up and called the ScamPulse.com. I did not pay any money or give personal information.

On 3-6-17 at 1:02 pm I received a call from the scammers stating,"that I'd been selected by the Federal Government to receive a $9,200.00 grant that I never have to pay back. The scammers ask," please verify your name, age and address so we know we're speaking with the correct person." (The scammers new my name, age and address but never asked for my birthday, or Social Security number) These scammers then ask,"so do you understand why you're receiving this grant that you never have to pay back?" I the victim of the scam stated ," no I don't that's an awful lot of money to be giving away this is very odd." The scammers stated,"you've been chosen along with others because you have always paid your taxes, pay your debts/bills on time and you have a clear criminal record". I the victim of the scam stunned at this stated ,"okay so the Federal Government is just giving me this $9,200.00 because I have done these proper things". The scammers stated," yes all you have to do to claim your benefits is tell us how you would like your benefits to be paid to you, it's 3 simple options to receive your money, it can be sent to Walmart and you can receive it by Money Gram or Western Union, your Bank straight to your account, or your Credit Card". I the victim stated," okay I would like this $9,200.00 sent to Walmart through Money Gram then what do I need to do?" The scammers stated,"okay all you have to do is go to your local Walmart and purchase a one time $200.00 ITunes Gift Card that's fully refundable, once you purchase the Itunes Gift Card you will give us a call back at this number immediately, you have to do this immediately to receive the $9,200.00 grant. The scammers then gave me a code and a number to call back with the ITunes Gift Card Information an extension to speak with another person in with the scammer. When you call the number the scammers provide you it connects you to a voicemail that says," the Google Subscriber is not available please leave your name and number and someone will get back with you". I realized this was a scam when the scammers requested that I purchase an ITunes Gift Card which I never purchased because I realized from the beginning something wasn't right with this whole situation.

Recd a call from the above number that said that I was selected to receive a $8500 Grant from US treasury dept. They wanted my bank acct info.

I have been receiving many phone calls from a person who claims they are with the Federal Government and want to offer me a government grant because I always pay my taxes. They claim they are in Barnhart MO and I am able to receive $9000 and to obtain these funds I must pay $200. They asked for my bank account or credit card numbers. I did not give them any information and they hung up on me.

Received a phone call saying that I had been chosen to receive a grant from the federal government for $9,200. All I needed to do was give my bank account number.

Posing as an elderly friend to get my personal information.

Federal Government has money for me. Need to call the phone number and then they will text the information back to me. Text me back and said I have been approved for $15,000.00 but I need to send $250.00 by Western Union to receive money.

One person would call and state that they are from the Federal government, and that I was one of the ones who was chosen to get, a this free grant I did not have to pay back. Reason for me getting this grant is because is that i pay my bills on time , I have not been in jail, and I haven't had any fall out with the police. They go on to say that they are going to give me an ID that I have to give to the other person that I have to call after I finish talking to him. He also gave me rules of what I can and can not do with the money that I was awarded. he then gave me the JK189, which is the ID number, and he also gave me a phone number that I am suppose to call which is 206-973-3255, I repeated this information back to him , and he said to call right away after hanging up from him. I went on to say this is a cam, he said no , and a bunch of talk to make me think everything was legit, I than said okay, bye and i hung up the phone. This is not the first time with these people so I didn't bother about calling that number, i just found a way of stopping them or bringing them out by contacting you guys.

This company called me and told me I had received a one time grant from the Federal Government for $10,200. If I went to Walgreen's and purchased an iTunes card for $300 and called the number on the back of the card, the numbers on the iTunes card, they would send me $10.500 (the $10,200 -plus the $300 which is for"taxes". I was to tell them the code number she gave me .The lady I spoke with is named Jennifer More, she said. Definitely English is not her first language

They want me to call back a number to get my grant number to receive $9000 cash which will be delivered to my door or I can go to a bank in New York to get it. This is supposed to be a government stimulus program and they picked my name through a demographic survey. I do not believe that the government sends cash. I wish to help you catch them. They have already called me 6 times. Once they said they would send the cash to my door and I would need to sign for it. When I said that I wouldn't sign for money if I didn't know where it came from, he said something under his breath about me dying. Really? Is this a money laundering scam? Yet, they continue to call. This last caller was more polite, but it comes right after a call from a "private number" for the same thing who said his name was Austin Campell. A woman called yesterday to say that she was above the accountant who originally called me, but she was also vague and could not tell me specifically why they chose me or who was in charge of this grant program.

There is a legal lawsuit, federal investigation against me. It is in federal claims court. Need to get in touch with us, we have sensitive and urgent information before you are arrested.

Initial call was woman named Jara with federal government agency that said I was chosen to receive $9000 gov grant, no loan, nothing to pay back, use as I need. Had to call second number to activate my confirmation #. Talked to Steven Smith who was oddly Indian. He said I needed to go to western union or cash gram place to receive $. But had to purchase a card and activate it with $250. Then I would receive the remaining $9000. I didn't not have $250 to activate a card so he said unless I could come up with it I was forfeiting the $9000.
