Gentleman called and said they had excess money they were trying to get rid of. They wanted me to give them 5000.00 Dollars on any type cash card to equal the $5000.00. Then they would give me $9000.00. At that time I he hung up after I was asking him questions to get more information.

Today, I received a call from the Federal government, I was to go to Western Union. I was picked for $9700 from Washington DC. She said they were looking through names of people who had registered before, and my name came up. She said my Western Union number was 0837506522. If you call them they ask you for your Western Union number, and mine is W1046. The caller was a woman. She had a Middle Eastern accent. She said I had 2 days to collect. She said the money would come from zip code 20201. They had my zip code from 20 years ago 43202, which isn't my zip code now. She said to call 786-504-0168 before I went to Western Union to make sure everything is approved.

Me: Life is good. Things have gotten more challenging as my mom's Alzheimer's progresses, but we get through one day at a time and take all the good we can.

Mary: That's great to hear from you,I was just wondering if you heard anything about Catalog Of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) Grant.?

Me: Never heard of it.

Mary: It's a new program from the federal government to encourage the empowerment of human right and poverty reduction.

Me: Sounds like a worthwhile endeavor

Mary: They help and support people who are interested in receiving fund for their business and personal use. Are you sure you have not hear about this yet?

Me: I have not, but I'm not likely the target audience.

Mary: You can also apply if you are interested, I can help you with the Agent contact info

Me: I appreciate the offer, but I'm sure there are other folks far more in need. I have a good paying job that would very likely put me beyond the range of those who would qualify for such a grant.

Mary: No that does nothing I also did this and got mine already. You just need to text Mr Steven Calvery now on his text number 765-889-2088 and tell him your full name and let him know you heard of this from me and you will like to apply also

On Mary's Facebook page, she has not posted anything for several months and has a better command of the English language than the person who messaged me. I have no idea if anyone has lost money to this, but it seems very much like an identity theft in the making.

I got a call from these two guys, Richard White and Micah Adams, they gave me an account #Gg2095, they said I have to go to the store and get $200 worth of iTunes gift cards in order for them to give me a government grant. I did that and gave them the information. Then my aunt said it was probably a scam. So I tried to get back the money I put on the cards but it was already gone.

I was contacted on facebook messenger by someone pretending to be my friend...told me about a grant I may qualify for..and how he said he got 15000 in grant money and how he's help me and I assumed it to be legit because I trust my friend ...i had to pay 100.00 western union to Nigeria and I questioned that and my friend said he had to do the same thing and he would pay 400.00 of the 500.00 I had to pay to get 15,000 in grant money and I would have to pay taxes. ..i wired 100.00 and was suppose to get my grant money today October 10 2017 and never received anything anf now the Facebook page is gone and the number goes to voicemail...thank you

Offered me a $9000 Grant. Bought 4 cards at Kroger, for $100 each. I gave them the security numbers off the back. I begged them not to be a scam. I told them this was my money to pay bills. I said this is the last little bit of money I got. They said "We're not a scam. Go back in and get three more cards". I said no. They said just go in and get one more card. I said Why can't you just take it out of the check? They said we can't do that. I live on social security.

Victim was contacted by someone claiming to be from Federal Government to let her know she has qualified for $9,000 government grant. All she would need to do to claim $9,000 was go to Walmart, purchase $200 itunes gift card and then call them back at 646-543-9953. Victim never purchased itunes card or called them back.

They told me they were from the Federal Government, they knew my name, number, & where i lived. They told me i have been selected for a grant in the amount of 14,566. Told me to go to the nearest store, purchase a money card for $250.

Wesley Chance called to tell me I was selected to receive a federal grant of $9000. To obtain the money, I needed to go to Walmart, pay $200 for a money order and then I would get the $9000.

They said I was picked for a government grant, I needed to call another number, gave me a grant #LR103. I called the number back, verified where I live, he had everything reserved for me, I'd have to call the Federal Reserve Bank. I had to get two $100 Itunes cards, scratch the back, give the numbers to that guy. So I borrowed the money, bought the gift cards, send him the info. He I would need another $600 to release more of the loan.

My phone number and name has been chosen and I'd won $9000 or $7000 (it changed depending on who I was speaking to. They wanted me to give them all my information and then go down to Walmart and send them $200-300 to release the funds.

scammer identified himself as being from the United States federal government and said I'd been selected for a FREE grant in the amount of $8,500, then attempted to extract personal information (last name, zip code); wanted me to go Western Union or provide account info for direct deposit. I asked him how it was possible that the same government that's trying to take away people's healthcare is also the same government that's giving away free money. I called him out as a fraud, said I would report him, told him to never call my number again and hung up.

I got an automated message saying I'd been authorized and chosen to receive a grant and that had to call another number. Called, spoke to Stephanie and Christopher Young. They said I'd selected for the grant, because I'm an American citizen, tax payer, I pay my bills on time, no criminal background. I was on the phone with them for a total of about an hour. They said I had to go to Walmart and get an Itunes gift card for $250 and I should call them from the parking lot for further examples.

Received a call yesterday stating I am being given a one time Federal Grant because I am an American Citizens. I am to go to WalMart and buy a card, for $200.00 and they will send me a card for $9,200.00. Talked with a Jeff Morrison. Was told to call him back after purchasing the card. I told him that I did not have the money and he asked when I would have the money. I told him today. I am to call Jeff Morrision back after 11:00 am today.

I received a call on my cell phone today. Caller stated they were with the Federal Government offering a $9000 Government Grant. Don't have to pay it back. They gave me phone number 410-214-0003. Advised me to call and give my ID# FG867. They asked if they could put the $9000 in the bank. I said no. They said I could pick up at Western Union. I did not call the number back. I know it is a scam and did not call the number back,
