I found farehut via Google Flights and purchased two round-trip tickets. I received a confirmation email with no tickets attached, and was called the next day being told I owe an additional $540 due to flight rate changes. I said I'd look into it before agreeing to the additional charge. I then went to the airline and looked up the Booking Reference number, and no flight had even been booked. I then looked up Farehut, read reviews, and read an article of typical flight ticket scams. And now, here I am. I'll have to pay hundreds more to get the same flight I originally wanted, but at least it will be with a legitimate booking agency with legitimate tickets.

I was looking for affordable ticket plans online through google flights and I landed on farehuts.com where I purchased a ticket at a confirmed cost. Next day I had not yet received a confirmation for said ticket and instead, was called by representative "Shawn Miller" that the tickets cost had gone up and in order to confirm the tickets I would need to authorize payment for an additional $480. I could also no longer cancel my flight for a refund of the original amount since the ticket was non-refundable. I reluctantly paid the difference but I feel scammed by the agency because my ticket was sold was advertised and confirmed a certain price and then I was forced to purchase the additional cost. This practice seems very unfair and I am submitting a claim so other can be made aware.

I went through Farehuts, an online booking agency for airline flights. We attempted to purchase flights, got a quote and a confirmation number. However, within 30 minutes I got a phone call from a Farehuts representative. The rep tried to explain that we would have to upgrade from a Basic seat plan, to a Main Cabin seat plan and pay a higher rate. When I questioned this, she stated that the original rate was a promotional rate that was no longer applicable. I said that was not acceptable. We then contacted our Credit Card service and canceled our card and will now be issued a new card. I feel we have been taken advantage of by a scam website.
