Letter for "Home Warranty" expired. Asking to renew it. Did not call.

- Hyattsville, MD, USA

I received a letter in the mail from the Home Warranty Division. It said that the warranty on my house was or has expired. I’m just a renter. It said to call Wade Grant at the phone number provided in order to renew a warranty. Seems fairly official with a customer ID number and barcode, but because there was no actual business name or website, nor was there a return address, I knew it was a scam.

- Rockville, MD, USA

Amber Lawrence is the name of the scam letter writer. No address was provided, only phone number to call. The letter claimed my home warranty is expiring and asks to call the number to activate it.

- Alexandria, VA, USA

continued mail harassment with 'final notice' to 98 year old family member and also repeated phone call harassment.

- Indian Head, MD, USA

Since May 2024, I'm getting mail from this SCAMMER after I had my home's exterior renovated. This SCAMMER names my mortgage lender & of course my name & address. They DO NOT list a return address however. Their # on each of their notices is 888-404-4504, name on notification: Wade Grant, Program Director, Customer ID: 247CJ65990 (Photos of

Wade Grant ********************************************************************

The letter is signed by Wade Grant, Program Director, and is a Final Notice that our home warranty has or will soon expire. The letter stresses the importance of calling the number to obtain coverage. There is a Customer ID # at the top of the letter and an Expiration Date (for the offer), 9/25/2024. The bank through which we obtained our mortgage is listed.

- Silver Spring, MD, USA

Very misleading letter, made to look like it's from the bank that has our mortgage. As prominent customer ID expiration date and a barcode at the top. In tiny type at the bottom it says "not all consumers have previous coverage superior home protection is not affiliated with your current mortgage holder." They do everything possible to fool you into thinking that The bank that holds your mortgage needs you to renew your home insurance, and then tiny disclaimer. Misleading advertising

Several mailings rec'd. Then "Final Notice" rec'd 6/24/24 - All by USPS. The company name and/or location was not actually shown. Just "Home Warranty Dept" [Record ID #164VV07628 with Registration Fee Voucher for $199.00] Notice intended to Alarm & Intimidate a homeowner, with repeated "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED, PLEASE CALL IMMEDIATELY: 1-888-413-5452" Called & asked:: Source of mail list & personal info, [ie. fixed income.] Agent "Thomas" kept talking about the costs of home appliances, etc. Refused to answer ?s / asked if he was a robot :) Aware that Public Land Records will disclose Tax & Owner Info. of real estate; The date of transfer would give an idea of owner age, etc. as well as social media. My cell does not have internet connection, it is a dumb phone, thus, it may not be hacked. :) [I did not share that with "Thomas", but told him would contact BBB! Thank You for option to share Info. These Un-Kind Actions on 'Classic Folks' does Not mean we are all targets! Receive other mailings for Warranty; with threats to contact a Mortgage Company, etc. Asked to be removed from list, have a Home Warranty for many years. Most are nicer responses. Thank You again, for being helpful to All Ages!

Letter claiming to be a Final Notice on an expiring Home Warranty. Letter issues a warning to wit: "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUIRED." Only a contact telephone number is provided 1-877-670-3352. This telephone number has been previously reported to ScamPulse.com in another scam complaint. It also appears that the term "REQUIRED" is a step up from previous reporting noting the use of the term "REQUESTED;" presumably this is to increase the scare tactics. Our home mortgage has been paid off for years and we never subscribe to appliance warranties, as we do not believe they are worth the cost. Did not attempt contact with the company.

They send me mail asking me to contact them about my home warranty which may or may not be expiring. I'm told to call them within 28 days of getting their notice. I called and was asked to press one for English, etc. I was then put on hold for approximately 10 minutes with an intermittent voice saying 'all reps are busy with other customers' before a voice says 'goodbye' and the call is disconnected. The letter has no company name, no web address, and no mailing address.

We received this letter in the mail. It says it's from CCHW Home Warranty DivisionAt first it looks like a check and almost like tax paperwork. There were too many red flags, so I decided to try and report it.
