I've gotten the same text. Except I'm so badly n need, as I'm a single mom of 4. So I went for it. He was demanding. He was kinda stupid re his words n how he spoke. I have applied for so much assistance, so I thought maybe one of the agency's gave my number to another affiliate of theirs who spoke about helping the needy in church. So I took the bate. At least all the way up til he said I need to pay money to get money. Seriously, who uses God as a way to get others to have faith? What the [censored] is wrong with humanity? Our society is just evil, and if it were up to me, ID lock him up n throw um to the sharks. Also, I've received the same text 2 times… I hope I don't have a virus or something now… Well, everyone, there is Eathan Williams. A fake a## mofo... It really makes it hard to keep hope when people constantly remind u of what hopeless feels like. Thanks for reading my post. N-

I got same message yesterday same as above. First one was a group text the one today was just to my number. would be nice to believe good things can happen, but I guess they never do. I told him short of showing up with $5000 in cash I didn't believe it and he should be ashamed of himself. Only difference is it said 65.

This is what I got in a text yesterday @ 11:40PM:

"Hello I'm Ethan William and I'm 55 year old and I'm a Business man but my pastor preached to us on this week Sunday about helping I'm here to help other for a little out of what I have, I'm texting you to see if you need some money to payoff bills or do some other things. Kindly reply me back on 3162471166 I will be glad to help out."

So I decided to see where this would go. I texted back a "need" and then I got a text back for a much higher amount to help me out with. The person then asked if I was a Christian? Do you go to church? Do you believe in almighty God? The person then said that they would help but you have to promise me you will spend the money wisely.

Then I asked what to do next? The person then said that they could do it through a Vanilla prepaid visa card or Fedex delivery. I texted back that I was not purchasing a card with money on it that could be taken right off by scammers that have already been through the store and took pictures of the activation information and then as soon as the card is activated they withdraw all funds. The next texts sent from the individual were trying to persuade me to get the card anyways and then follow-up with them.

Finally the individual texted that it can be received through Fedex delivery. The last text I got was the following:

"Here's the agent number to text (314)-400-8480 for your delivery

Text him you're from philanthropist mr Ethan William and make sure you use the money wisely okay"

I didn't pursue this façade any further.

Texted me out of the blue claiming to help me with bills then asked me to verify Google code being sent to me after asking for my name. He is not legit!

Organization that claims to help the needy but extorts money and charge exorbitant fees in order to deliver financial relief. One must obtain a "vanilla" gift card plus another "vanilla" card to transfer the funds to the first card. Or, if one is not able to play the "card shuffle", pay an initial fee of $50 and then a "state charge" of $200 to have a check mailed to the recipient's address.
