So I decided to see where this would go. I texted back a "need" and then I got a text back for a much higher amount to help me out with. The person then asked if I was a Christian? Do you go to church? Do you believe in almighty God? The person then said that they would help but you have to promise me you will spend the money wisely.
Then I asked what to do next? The person then said that they could do it through a Vanilla prepaid visa card or Fedex delivery. I texted back that I was not purchasing a card with money on it that could be taken right off by scammers that have already been through the store and took pictures of the activation information and then as soon as the card is activated they withdraw all funds. The next texts sent from the individual were trying to persuade me to get the card anyways and then follow-up with them.
Finally the individual texted that it can be received through Fedex delivery. The last text I got was the following:
"Here's the agent number to text (314)-400-8480 for your delivery
Text him you're from philanthropist mr Ethan William and make sure you use the money wisely okay"
I didn't pursue this façade any further.
