I recently reserved an LLC name in VA. This company sent me a letter that reads as though a penalty is imminent, until you read in more detail in the small print. It is then more clear that it is a "service" they are providing. If it weren't for the fact that I only reserved a name, instead of actually creating the LLC, then it would have seemed much less odd. It is clear from research this is a common ploy to get people to buy "posters" which can be printed for free, if even needed. Since I did not have an actual LLC, it is clearly a scam.

Received a letter for my business that I need to comply with the Labor Law compliance notice and to send $108.00. The letter stated that I have employees. I recently started a small business and I registered as having zero employees. I typed in the link they provided online and it does not exist (thankfully)! Also, I attempted to send a test email to the email address they provided. My email would not send as it instantly alerted me that it is a spam email address. Please do not send these people a check or your credit card information.

The business stated that I need a labor law poster and it was against the law not to have one. Set a date I needed to respond by. Asked for my name and address and also my credit card info. provided a QR code also.

Scammer using name of "Entity Solutions" mailed a letter to my home address but was addressed to my LLC. Letter looks official and states: "Your business is obligated under Federal Law to display a currrent, compliant labor law poster in the workplace." and "Failure to comply with posting regulations,as outlined in Federal Law 29 USC Sec. 666 (i) & 29 Sec, 2005, can result in potential fines exceeding $7,000 per violation for not posting federally required information." They offer a detachment and return addressed envelope to mail in $94 to pay for a poster. I know I can print one myself - plus I am my business's only employee - so I believe they are trying to take advantage of new business owners who do not know any better. Their "business address" is a UPS store in Montgomery and the return addressed envelope is addressed to a PO Box in FT Lauderdale, FL.

My son received 2 letters today saying that he owned a business and fees needed to be paid. My son does not own any business. When I looked the name up wood jordan llc biztopia popped up with the business listed and it has something to do with domestic violence. I have the letters and I’ve emailed the people who sent these letters. I don’t know who else to contact so that is why I contacted better business bureau.
