EMployment Scam/Fake Job Offer Reports & Reviews (3)

- Benton, AR, USA

I was contacted through a Facebook group for open job positions. Told this would be data entry online job. Instructed to download the Viber chat app and was given a code for the job position and phone number to contact HR. HR gets back with me. Says they will do a brief interview. The position was $35/hr, could increase, company will send equipment.

The only personal info I have was the name of my bank and previous employment info. I had given my name in the first contact to "Ms.Carroll in HR". I started looking into the company and couldn't find it, so here I am. Awaiting the decision from "head of the department" the last thing she asked was my marital status to know how to "formally address me" with the response.  "After assessment and evaluation by the head of the HR department, your percentage score is rated 81% on the questions that you have answered for the interview and for your consideration stand, You've just been confirmed qualified for the position"

"Due to your level of experience and communication skills, the company has decided to give you a chance for you to work for the company and we will like to see your diligence, charisma, commitment towards this job. Congratulations"

Then requested i "quickly" send the following information

The person reached out to me after I applied to a handful of online jobs. They were stating that they would give $30 per hour, and send a check to purchase equipment for the job. Without looking close the check seemed real and could very easily trick someone. They sent employment documents to be filled out (w-9) and send a job description that seemed well thought out and legit. When probed to talk with an HR representative, they steered me towards asking questions over Zoom messaging and stated that I could talk with someone once I start the training sessions. When I asked for a website of their company, they used a website that was from overseas with numbers that were unreachable, but the site itself looked very real and was very well made.
