Elevate Roofing Reports & Reviews (1)

Unable to find a contractor to patch my roof, I contacted Elevate Roofing, a company that came to Dillon following a hailstorm that caused major damages to properties. They were eager to tell me that my roof and fascia had hail damage from that storm, and they'd file a claim with my insurance company to replace them.

On 5-5-21 we signed a contract with Elevate Roofing and paid a large sum of money we received from the insurance company to replace our roof (including metal roofing over the porch), fascia, and portions of the soffit. Elevate told me they needed this amount of money to order the materials and as a down payment for starting the job. This payment included expenses for the roof, fascia and soffit.

The roofing crew was scheduled to start during the week of 7-26-21, however there was one postponement after another until finally (after I repeatedly called) one roofer started on 8-30-21, taking over eight days to complete a job that we were quoted would take two days. This included multiple follow-up phone calls to Elevate Roofing requesting that the roofing be completed under and around the satellite dish where bare wood material was left exposed.

After several phone calls, on 10-26-21, the business owner, Thomas Pendergraft, and another roofer replaced the metal roof over the porch. However, they left the old roofing materials and other supplies/trash on our property. When we followed up with a phone call, we were told it would be removed the following day, but it wasn’t. After several postponements, the siding crew was scheduled to start the fascia and soffit on 9-27-21 but they did not show up. The fascia and soffit are required to be replaced as part of the contract and were included in the payment that Elevate Roofing received on 5-5-21, but they were never completed. The roofing they did complete was only done after my consistently calling to remind them of what needed to be done.

At one point, I got into a very heated phone conversation with Elevate Roofing employee Jennifer DeBoer Horrocks, where she blamed me for all of the delays and their inability to complete the job (i.e. me asking for at least a half days' notice before the crew shows up so I could contain my dog so he wasn't in their way and couldn't get out of the yard; she told me it was unheard of for a property owner to ask when the crew would show up to roof, which I find completely false). When Jennifer told me at one point that I needed to talk to the owner, Thomas Pendergraft, about my concerns, he never returned my phone calls.

In the end, Jennifer told me that their siding crew was in Florida and wouldn't return to Dillon until spring 2022 and I'd be one of the first on the list. However, I never heard from them, they never returned my phone calls, and the Elevate Roofing office was closed. It appears Elevate Roofing is out of business. I heard he filed bankruptcy and left town. Their office is vacant and the website doesn't exist. I'd heard Thomas Pendergraft, the business owner, is a storm chaser, files bankruptcy, leaves the town, and opens another business elsewhere. I think he's out of Utah. Talking to a local contractor, he knows of at least five other families that had the same experience we did, where Elevate took their insurance money and didn't complete the job they were paid to do.

Thomas Pendergraft needs to be stopped. He opens businesses under different names, in different towns and states. He's robbing people. I paid for materials and services that were never received. They were an absolute nightmare to deal with!!!
