2004 Toyota scam

My name is Evelyn and I'm emailing you about the 2004 Toyota Tacoma TRD SR5 4WD with only 101,242 miles. Let me give you a few details about it: it's in very good condition, it doesn't have any mechanical issues. Tires and wheels are in great shape as well, four wheel drive. The engine 3.4L V6 gasoline runs very good and the automatic transmission shifts perfectly. Has a clean and clear title in my name. The price was reduced at $1000 including delivery to your home address, because I'm recently divorced, after the divorce I owned this truck and I don't need it. I need to sell the truck in maximum 2 weeks because I will leave the country for a year on military duty with my medical team and I do not have a place to store it. I look forward to hearing from you.

My dad, a retired vet himself just about fell victim to this today. We knew it sounded too good to be true and he asked me to look into it. I'm very grateful for this site. Everything that I have read on here was exactly the same thing that was wrote to him. In this case, the price was 1000.00 for the truck.

I was just about to be scammed by this same person. I responders on Facebook marketplace to an ad for a 2004 Toyota that looked immaculate. They were asking only $1000. When I messaged the owner I was redirected to a different page which told me to contact someone named Evelyn Wilson via email at [email protected] (photo 1). This was all strange right off the bat, especially the photo. I am in serious need of a vehicle, so I emailed anyway. The response I got (photo 2) gave the same story others shared about her being in the military, blah blah blah and she provided photos of the truck saying I'd get the truck for a test phase. It all sounded great!The follow up email was from the fake ebay domain "[email protected]". I Google searched what 'eBay vpp' was and this is when my suspicion was confirmed. See the additional screenshota I've provided. Unfortunately, this scam is ALL OVER Facebook marketplace. I responded to over 9 vehicle listings and all of them did the same redirection response.

Type of a scam Online Purchase

We found a truck online. The seller, Evelyn Wilson, said she was in the Army Medical Corp. She said she was being shipped overseas. They used the following emails: [email protected] and [email protected]. She asked for $800 for a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado 4 wheel drive pickup. She sent 8-10 pics of the truck. She said she had a deal with eBay to have the car shipped to me to inspect for 5 days, and if I liked it, I could pay then. But in the mean time, she wanted 4 $200 eBay gift cards. Then I got an invoice from eBay, and thought it looked funky, so I called ScamPulse.com who confirmed it was a scam.
