On October 24th, 2024 I was contacted via text message by a rectruiting person named Kayla from Allegis Group (phone number 350 503-1370) who put me in contact with an individual named Kevin. He contacted me via Whatsapp (phone numbers ?312 523-1006 and 312 536-1736) and described this opportunity as a part-time job through an online platform. He explained that this job was provided by a company called Duetto. According to him, Duetto is a hotel star rating company. Hoteliers provide their hotel content to the company's data marketing team for star rating and advertising exposure. He then went on and walked me through the training session on the platform (www.duetto-sp.com). After that I started my job by connecting to the platform daily to perform my “tasks”. The job consisted in depositing a minimum amount of 100 USD in the work platform via crypto (USDC, USDT, ETH or BTC) and using this amount to complete what looked like data mining tasks for hotels. At the end of each set of tasks, I would have to withdraw my money back + the commission made on the tasks. The job included also a salary based on the number of days I would connect to the platform. 5 consecutive days - 800 USDT/USDC; 15 consecutive days - 1500 USDT/USDC; 30 consecutive days - 3800 USDT/USDC. On top of guiding me through the training session, Kevin also included me in a Whatsapp group where other “colleagues” would be sharing their experiences and feedback. This Whatsapp group is still active and when I tried to tell everyone in it that this was a scam, I didn’t get much of a reaction which made me realize that probably these are not real people. For the first 4 days, everything went as explained. I was depositing the 100 USD, completing my tasks and withdrawing the crypto back in my wallet with the commission. Then in the whatsapp group and on the platform, they start talking about the Duetto anniversary and how to celebrate the company, they will give higher profit if you deposit more than 100 USD. On day 5 (October 28th, 2024) I deposited $600 via crypto in the work platform and I received an additional 800 (supposedly salary). With $1400 in the account, I start my tasks but that’s when things started going wrong. I start hitting what they called “lucky orders” where I would make more profit but I would have to deposit more money. From that day on, they kept coming up with new rules in order for me to withdraw my money and the situation escalated quickly to the point where I couldn’t see what was happening to me. I kept depositing all my money on the platform thinking that by abiding to the rules I would have been able to get my money back with some profit on top. On December 9th, they inform that due to the number of users, the platform has to be moved to a new website (duetto.cc). On Friday December 13th, 2024 after depositing the last amount ($49,980.00) needed to finally withdraw my money, I’m told that I need to deposit a risk margin fee of 40% of the total amount in the account, in order to get my money. That’s when I finally woke up from this crazy stupid ride, I realized that something was wrong. I asked for documentation and I received something that made me even more suspicious (please find pdf documents attached). Panicked and lost, I decided to talk to my wife and I explained everything that happened in the last 2 months. She made me see things clearly and made me realize I was victim of a scam. Few days ago, someone posted an article on Reddit, explaining the same exact scheme.
