Type of a scam: Online Purchase

The website lists toy sized poodle puppies for sale at a low $500. They claim the pups are AKC registered, in good health, and partially trained. They then contact you by email stating that they will ship the dog to you for free with a coupon given by their shipping service. But you have to pay first! I thought it was too good to be true so I looked up the business on the Internet and there are tons of ppl who have been scammed and even one person saying they stole pictures from her legitimate poodle breeding web.

This was the same scam mentioned already but I didn't look before I sent $500 money gram for a puppy that doesn't exist. The Diamond Poodle company does not exist. The web site is advertised anytime you pull up poodle puppies for sale. I did call the number and the person on the other end could not even understand me. I also called pet transport companies in the Baltimore Maryland area but they had never heard of this company. I feel very stupid but I want a poodle. The web site is very convincing.

We were searching for a Poodle and came across this website www.diamondpoodles.com. The website looked very reputable and complete. I clicked on the puppy I wanted buy but you could not pay online, you could only put in your information and “reserve” the pet. They listed a number you could text 606-217-5233 and an email address [email protected]. I thought it was a little fishy that I could not pay online and that I tried several times to call and they never answered and did not return any of my phone calls. I did send them a few text messages and emails to which they responded. I have not sent them any money and did a lookup on the BBB website which listed them with several different alias names. I just wanted to make you aware of this scam and give you as much detail as possible. They sent me an email when I “reserved” the poodle:

Dear Client,

Nice reading from you and to know that you would be interested in our

puppy "Lexi". The puppy is still available, presently 9 weeks old,

vet checked, has completed all basic obedience/behavioral training

and ready for new home. We ship them from our home in Baltimore MD.

They are shipped via airplane using a professional pet shipping

agency. Usually we charge an additional $250 for shipping per puppy,

but right now we have coupons from our shipping agent to ship 3

puppies at no extra cost, so if you purchase your puppy while these

coupons are still available and valid, we will be able to ship your

puppy for

free. Otherwise shipping will cost an additional $250.

Can you please confirm with us exactly which day you wish to purchase?

Equally feel free to let us know if you have any questions, concerns

or need assistance.

We always seek the best for our puppies, so we will also like to know

a little about the family our baby will be going into. Could you

please kindly tell us about your family

When I asked about the shipping process, they sent me this message:

Dear Client ,

Thanks for getting back to us. Your puppy 'LEXI'' has been put on Hold,

pending payment. You will have to effect the payment for us to validate

your order and proceed with the necessary paper work for your puppy LEXI

we will within 2 business days of receiving payment, confirm your

order,process all required paperwork, have our license veterinarian

perform last minute routine checkup on your puppy LEXI

Like we said, we book flights for Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays (You have

to chose which day suits you best). Once the flight is booked, we will

provide you the flight number, date and time of departure and arrival

as well as all info you will require to pickup the puppy upon

arrival.

You can do the payment using the following information via Money Gram .

Amount........550 dollars ( including home delivery )

We require you go to a Money Gram Store near you, request to make a

Money Transfer and you will be provided a form to fill. Use the above

provided information for receiver’s information, then hand over the

form along with the cash to attendant. When the transaction has been

processed, you will be provided a receipt containing the Reference

(Tracking) Number. You may click on find location on www .moneygram.com

to find a location close to you.

***When making the payment make sure you specify the payment option to

be “pickup up at agent location“ (or money in minutes)

***Due to security concerns related to illegal credit card use,

online payment can sometime be declined. We will advice you kindly

proceed to make payment in person/cash at a Money Gram Store.

Once you are done please email us a scanned photo of the money gram

receipt of payment you got okay .

so you need e to hold the money in cash and tell them you want
