On September 12, 2023 I received a text message from Norton that had contracted a virus and provided an 800 number to call. I went to what I thought was the Norton website, using my home computer and got the following number from there: 816-934-4078. They answered the phone "Delaware software support for Norton" I spoke with a gentleman who accessed my computer and explained that I had a number of virus's, and they would be happy to "clean up" my drives. He explained it would take a few hours to accomplish this as I had 2 computers that were hard wired that were affected. After approximately 4 hours they called from 888-327-8051 and said they were finished and to renew my Norton subscription would be $399 for 3 years and a $200 charge for today's services. I paid a total of $599.99 using my Sams Card. Today, 11/23/2023, I received a notice that my Norton was expiring in 5 days. I called Norton at 800-995-3086 and spoke to a woman who informed me that there was no record of my having made a payment to renew my subscription. It was at this time I realized I had been scammed.
