I hired a graphic designer from CustomDesignGenius.com to create a logo. After I paid for the logo design, they contacted me and said I needed to trademark the logo to use it. They tried to charge me an additional $1,500 for trademark registration services, which is a scam. I contacted the real United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) directly, and they confirmed they do not work with this company and that the fee they quoted was excessive and misleading. The graphic designer from CustomDesignGenius.com was using high-pressure tactics, saying things like "you must trademark it now or someone will steal it." I found their email, [email protected], and their phone number, (929) 263-0736, but they are not legitimate trademark attorneys. They are just trying to scare people into paying for unnecessary services. I did not lose any money to this part of the scam because I checked with the real USPTO first.
