CTS Corporation Reports & Reviews (8)

I applied to an ad on Indeed.com to CTS Corporation. Someone reached out to me via email and said to contact them through microsoft outlook or skype. I began to communicate with them via skype and they did my interview through skype as well. After the interview, they then told me that they were offering a job with their company and sent me the link provided above. Once I accepted the employment offer, I signed an "Employment Offer Letter". Then they sent me a check for "work equipment", had me do a mobile deposit and send the money in $1000.00 increments to different "vendors". They had me screenshot proof that the check was deposited and that the transaction was successful to the different "vendors". 4 days later, my bank withdrew the first check that I deposited from the company. Now, my bank account is in the negatives.

I received a text from someone named Taylor Donald which said the following:

Good Evening. This is Taylor Donald from (CTS CORPORATION), your resume has been reviewed on (CAREER BUILDER) and you have been selected for an interview on a Data Entry clerk/Project manager/Administrative clerk position for ($35/hr) with three days paid adequate training provided.Reply if interested.

I received a text from +1 (301) 388-5394 claiming to be Taylor Donald recruiting for CTS Corporation. He set me up for an interview via Skype. The interview was all via IM with no availability to see my interviewer’s (“Regina Moore”) profile information to confirm company email. A few hours after the IM exchange, she sent me a message saying I got the job (no phone calls or real interviews by this point). There were red flags with her broken English and references (let me check with the “director of departments” on your application?). Terrible to prey on job seekers! I reported these to Skype, but I’m sure it will be easy enough to put together another profile.

I was contacted via iMessage by “Julie Donald” saying my resume was found on indeed and approved for a Data entry/ Customer service/ Administrative Assistant position. There were immediate red flags. Those are 3 different positions with completely different responsibilities. Indeed has a messaging feature and I believe I would have had to save the job or apply for them to have my number but I didn’t do either one of those things. They made several grammatical errors and repeated the same things. They didn’t ask for my name or verify my identity in anyway. I also don’t know many people who do business on Skype either. Be careful when applying to jobs, there are even scams on indeed and LinkedIn.

Tips no one asked for: •look up their number on cashapp or Venmo before responding. If they have an account you should see who they are if not, that’s a red flag.
•give them a backup email instead of the real one
•bad grammar is always a red flag

I was contacted by text from someone identified as Jane Richard from CTS Corporation’s HR department after seeing my resume on Indeed.com regarding a job that was much like the others I had applied to. They said my resume passed the first review and they would like to offer me an interview via Skype or Microsoft Teams. They only asked for the email address for the Skype I wished to be contacted by.

Almost immediately I was contacted by Skype by someone who introduced themself as Mrs. Janet Cooker from the HR department of CTS Corporation. This person told me a little about the positions available (there were several listed; Data Entry, Administrative Assistant, or Customer Service.) and asked which I would be most interested in. They asked about my experience working and interviewing remotely as well as my work experience. They wanted to know if I had experience working with Petty Cash and Confidentiality Codes.

They told me they needed a moment to review my responses with the board and would confirm the results in about 20 minutes.

(Some of the questions seemed odd so I spent the 20 minutes searching online for any info on the company and any potential scams. It is a real company and I didn’t see any scams listed that matched. I read up on spotting scams and red flags… so far it didn’t match up) They returned and offered me the job. Then they asked for which mobile service and bank I use. I declined the option for direct deposit because I didn’t want to share account information with them. They said they didn’t want or need my account number, only the name of the bank.

They wanted to email me a check to print and deposit by mobile deposit. The check was to buy the proper work equipment at one of their approved vendors.

They congratulated me again and asked that I come back to the Skype meeting the following morning at 8am to discuss next steps.

Almost immediately after depositing the check, my bank froze my account until I could come into a branch.

This morning, “Janet” messaged me and asked if the funds had cleared yet so we could coordinate ordering my equipment. I confirmed that my account was frozen and that I would review what had happened at my bank.

I went into the bank and was informed that the check was fraudulent.

I tried hard to be smart about this.

Hello ****** *********. My name is John Lewbert, I'm a legal associate to CTS Corporation ... The hiring manager, Mrs. Janet Cooker filed a complaint of your refusal to pick his calls while being in possession of the company's funds $2450. Kindly get to him immediately on Skype. I will urge you to do as requested by the hiring manager now so that your actions are not used against you in the court of law for trying to or defrauding the company of funds.

If you choose not to do as requested immediately we would have no other choice than to press charges against you in accordance to the constitution and I quote "Whoever knowingly violates section 5136A of the Revised Statutes of the United States, section 9A of the Federal Reserve Act, or section 20 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both". You're still young and have a very bright future. You have until 2 p.m. EST to do the right thing.

I was reached out by Jane Richard offering a remote job position at CTS Corporation for Data Entry. She later told me the interview process will be done using Microsoft Teams. I was asked a couple questions (By HR Emily White) and what really got me was the fact that they emailed me a check to buy initial supplies without any official paperwork or welcome email and the check was from an AC company. BE AWARE! SCAM!
