I was contacted by this company stating I had a loan and the loan was over $5000 and I still had a remaining balance close to $1500 & I am responsible for this and they threatened to garnish my pay, take me to court, etc... It's funny how they made the phone number a local number that is a town away from me.. First of all, I think the company the loan they said I had it from (American Trust Loans) is not a real company but they do have info on me so apparently there is some kind of fraudulent activity going on here. And they said payments were made but I NEVER TOOK OUT A LOAN NOR MADE PAYMENTS ON A LOAN I DIDN'T TAKE OUT!! THEYsaid they could help me settle it TODAY and I told them I was not responsible for this and I'm not paying for it and they got nasty and said "you better retain a lawyer"!! This is absolutely very scary and I just want to put it out there so NOONE else gets mixed up in this. I need to definitely contact someone about fraudulent activity under my information.
