Paid $500 for a vendor booth at CraftMania event that was not advertised

I am a small non-profit owner who sells artwork to create revenue for homeless prevention support. I saw an Instagram ad looking for vendors for “CraftMania” a Bremerton art market. I filled out an application. I was called by “David” who said the booth fee was $500 in exchange for a 10x10 vendor space over three days 10am-6pm. I agreed and proceeded with payment via Venmo. However, what was promised was: advertisement of the event and that “thousands of people will be attending” due to advertising and ongoing events near the event space. There was no advertising, the website doesn’t exist, and the event has had no visitors. I have tried for months to get solid information from “David” in writing and he has given me vague, misleading, false information about advertising and promise of outreach. I feel that he has lied and I have lost $500 and time preparing for an event that was set up to be unsuccessful in exchange for high booth fees.
