Someone sent me a link to a Contigo cup on cicontrol.com. It was well discounted, and I tried to purchase about $30 worth of Contigo merchandise. The website looked very professional and had good ScamPulse.com ratings.

I tried entering two different credit cards at checkout, which required SMS 2FA codes, but the purchase wouldn't go through. Shortly after I got an email from American Express that my card was added to Apple Pay (which I don't use) and a fraud alert text from Visa that my card was used for $9000 at FIFA.

So clearly the website was a front and stole and used my credit cards.
