After 3 weeks of MANY no shows and cancellations to repair the mistakes, the same crew showed up to fix these mistakes. Again, a second coat was never applied. The inside door I had to paint myself. They did not use kilz paint to paint where the garden hose was removed, so I had to apply 3 more coats of paint to that area so that it would match. Patio ceilings and beams were not painted. They did power spray the overspray's on the flagstone and this left spray marks where they "fixed" their mistakes. Somehow three of the bricks on the corner patio were dislodged but I was able to repair the mortar on those and repaint that as well. UGH!
Chris Laguna has a LONG HISTORY OF NO SHOWS. Some of his excuses are: funeral, horse dying (he used internet stock photos of two different horses to show me), had to help someone move from Phoenix to Tucson. All of these excuses are always at the last minute including the funeral! He claimed he dropped his phone in concrete and had to get a second phone. His current number is 520-236-0690 for now. He claimed he did not have pictures of previous work he has done because the phone that had the pictures on it was broke.
Approximately three weeks after the "project" started he gave my number out to two other people without my consent. One was his "father". I say "father" because every time I wanted to talk to his father, I would only get a text message saying he was in a meeting. About this same time, I was told to only contact his father for refund of half of the money. Well, this got old because his "father" had a LONG HISTORY OF NO SHOWS, as well. I highly suspect that this number (520-980-3084) that supposedly belongs to his father is just a burner phone that Chris Laguna has in his possession. I also say this because many times Chris was say he was in Yuma all week, and then I got the same message from his "father's" phone. Strange that they were both in Yuma working off site. And the moving his daughter excuse was from his "father's" phone, yet both of them were unable to meet us to pay us back. Despite ASSURING US WE WOULD GET PAID the following Monday, Tuesday, well you get the idea. Hundreds of cancellations and no shows.
We paid a total of $4350 for facia work and two coats of Evershield Dunn and Edwards paint. We are hoping to get $2000 refunded.
Chris also said that he would put concrete in a small 2 x 3 foot area by the front faucet. This has never been done of course.
TOTAL SCAM. Stay away from this "contractor"!

I totally agree that we should start a class action case against CRL and put a stop to him. This BS has been going on for three weeks, we finally put our foot down and I demanded his business papers, but of cores there are none.
We all should do a class action case against CRL

We both signed on 4/7/21. I gave Mr. Laguna $3,500.00 to start the project. On 4/19/21 Mr. Laguna requested an additional $1000.00 to obtain additional material. On 4/20/21 Mr. Laguna asked for an additional $300 to pay for lumber to build a temporary wall while the south (back) wall was being replaced. On 4/21/21 Mr. Laguna received a check for $150.00 for coloring of the stucco. On 5/4/21, Mr. Laguna was given $450.00 for a building permit (that I found out later was not needed) for the cement brick wall. On 5/4/21, he was given $50.00 for a pool railing. On 5/17/21, Mr. Laguna was given $450.00 cash for another partial payment of the wall. On 5/20/21, Mr. Laguna was provided the final payment of $1000.00 for the perimeter wall. Up to this point, the east side wall footer and two feet of wall were done. On 5/21/21 a crew of four appeared and could not start because there was no mortar or brick or other tools needed to do the job so I went with Mr. Laguna and purchased a mortar tool and mortar for a total of $55.00. At this point, I told Mr. Laguna that he will receive no more funds from me. On 5/30/21, Mr. Laguna calls me to say he's at the Ronald McDonald home with his son in Phoenix and asked if I could wire him $200.00 to help cover costs which I did.
Throughout this whole ordeal, Mr. Laguna lied in 90% of what he shares for example, after continuous requests for updates and the status of metal gates being made by his Tio they never were. One time he said they were on his U-HAUL trailer and that it broke and he's waiting for U-HAUL to come and fix or replace it. That was more than a few weeks ago and still no gates. A few days ago, his grandmother called to say he's incarcerated and cannot bring the gates!!! A search of AZ, Pima County, and Tucson prisons showed no one with that name being incarcerated but I believe there were three criminal records with his name with unpaid fines due years ago and still not paid! I've been promised the cement bricks (five pallets; four for my wall, and one pallet to replace the ones he used that belonged to my neighbor) and gates would be delivered at least 15-times and still no [censored]s or gates!
The work that was done was terrible. Some bricks were placed in the wall without mortar and I have images to prove it. Some gaps between the blocks exceed 3 inches with little to no mortar. The footer was no thicker than 6 inches at the deepest end. The footer had cracks in it and brick placed on top of it with no repair. The bricks were not level and some of them have already cracked before the stucco was placed on it. I've been told by bricklayers that the wall will crack because of how it was built. He never filled the ends of the east wall with mortar or cement to prevent it from falling over and supporting heavy wrought iron gates (that I ordered from him and never received).
After the call from Christopher Rene Laguna's grandmother that he was incarcerated, no contact could be with him. Text and calls go unanswered as Mr. Laguna has a very long history of losing his cell phone battery power and unable to communicate.
I have filed an on-line police report but have not received any feedback from them to date.
