The scammer ‘sold’ me a Chihuahua puppy for the price of $600.00 dollars. Scammer agreed to accept half now and remaining balance upon delivery of the animal. I could not send via Cashapp or Zelle so I opted to purchase an Apple gift card and provide them with the details once they provided me with the transfer of ownership documents. The scammer then later contacted me and said there was no balance on the gift card when they tried to access the funds. After a phone call with Apple Support, I discovered the funds were in fact ‘consumed’. Meaning the intended party (the scammer) had loaded the funds to their Apple account. Unbeknownst to the scammer that I had gotten this information from Apple, they then reached out to me again requesting that I resend the funds as they never were able to access the balance.
