This is the text of the email that I sent to the email address [email protected], per the first phone conversation that I had when I received an email branded as a collections company for Shea Apartments (https://sheaproperties.com/apartments/).

I have already called the 1-855-481-6578 and told the representative that I’m not going to pay any bills that does not have an invoice attached with dates and amounts to specify what the bill is for.

Furthermore, I never received my security deposit back and per the Colorado revised statutes section 38– 12–103 , Shea was supposed to provide me a “written statement listing the exact reasons for the retention of any portion of the security deposit.” That was supposed to be provided within one month after the termination of the lease, which it was not.

Lastly, this website looks like a scam, and I am not going to click on any links and enter any kind of payment information, so please reply back with an itemized invoice, including the dates from which you are calculating the charges and provide me with a physical address where I can send a physical check.

For your information, I have reported this to the state of Colorado’s fraud department. Although they won’t take any action, they are noting claims. It has been over 2 1/2 years and I have not received any correspondence from Shea. Therefore, I am not going to respond to any demands for money without a professional and legal request for payment, including a breakdown of what the charges are for and an explanation of what happened to my security deposit.

I received a letter from a company called Central Billing collection agency stating that I owed them $912.46. Their website is www.centralbilling.net. When I called the number on the letter, 844-258-3932, I was informed I owed that amount for a magazine subscription from 2012. I don't have a magazine subscription, nor have I ever. When I informed the customer service rep, they became rude and told me that I would be reported to the credit bureaus if I didn't pay. I looked this company up on Ripoff Report and found numerous complaints from others all over the country stating the exact same thing had happened to them.
