After telling me over text that I was scheduled for an interview, I moved over to Skype on her request, at which she introduced herself again, and started trying to conduct a text interview. At this point, I googled her, and found this exact scam and cut contact.

Received an email from Renee Lindsey an HR assistant reaching out about a Remote Data Entry Job interview. They stated they were pleased with my qualifications and wanted to conduct an online interview to discuss the duties within the job, along with the pay scale. The e-mail states that my information was forwarded to the Hiring Superior/Client Services, Mrs. Caitlyn Palmer, who will be conducting my interview via Skype. They found my resume through Indeed.

The e-mail then gave a company overview about Cellestia Biotech and included their website to find more information.

They included a job description where the basic qualifications were:

-Be a US Citizen or authorized to work in the US

-fluent in communication and English

-18+ years old

-Proficient with Microsoft Office

-Strong Organizational skills

-Possess good written and communication skills

They stated the pay rate is $30.75 per hour during working hours and $25.50 per hour during training. They stated that it was a remote position with a flexible work schedule

Next, the e-mail stated that if I meet the listed requirements to download the Skype App and add the Hiring Superior/Client Services, Mrs. Caitlyn Palmer using the skype email [email protected] and schedule the interview.

The e-mail stated to send Caitlyn Palmer an invitation/message along with a brief introduction of yourself. They also told me to send a verification code which was CBI-0702 in an e-mail.

I downloaded skype and added this Caitlyn Palmer and then sent out an invitation to meet at 3pm. She declined my invitation and told me to update my "Skype Name" to include my full name in order to begin the interview. At that time, I started feeling that this was a scam and immediately blocked this person from my Skype contacts and reported them for fraud.

Contacted by email first from a James Margon, claiming to be an HR Assistant from [email protected]. Email stated I was the top candidate they had from their Career Builder platform and a canned statement regarding the company and what they do. I ignored this email, but the next day I received a text from a Mrs. Daniella Hector (301-569-2543) offering 3 work for home options, explaining how excited they were to receive my resume and urgently wanted to interview me for one of the 3 available positions, data entry, customer service and accounting manager. I was traveling the week of their reach-out but decided to do the immediate interview thru Microsoft Teams App interviewed by Casey Jones. Email was [email protected]. Teams email was chrisreeder@[email protected], though the name that appeared on the back-and-forth Teams discussions was a Cassey Jones The interview questions were typical, with responses from Cassey of "understood?" used often when a response was requested, or directions given.

I experienced the same results as the complaint that was written August 29th, 2023.

I was advised both my resume/interview responses were impressive asked to review and sign and return job offer letter which would be arriving in the morning an email from HR to my email address and to meet the following morning again with Cassey Jones on the Teams App for instructions of receiving a tracking number for a check from them to deposit in my bank account to purchase laptop mentioned Apple Laptop and software. And important I follow their exact instructions to purchase from a their preferred vendor they had "been using for years" according to Cassey. Because I was travelling I let this show go on and did get a check for $4,500 that arrived the following day via UPS next day air. The check was from Village Hair and Nails, Inc. 501 Delannoy Ave, Cocoa, FL. 32022. The phone number for the Salon is 321-632-4247. it appears to be a legitimate business, though both my phone messages left there have not been returned. Ironically neither has my email or Team requests for further conversation with Casey/Cassey Jones!

I called the issuing bank, a Community Credit Union, 1030 S US-1, Rockledge, FL. 32955, phone # 800-690-2338 and they have promised to look into the check itself and provide me more information next week.

My email to the actual company itself over in Sweden via their "contact us" link from their website asking them about the supposed US positions and the crazy way the interview and check had been issued after a 10 minute interview has not been answered yet either.

I do have the check and job offer letter in hand if it is needed.
