I’ve been left several voicemails using different numbers around New Jersey. Saying that I am being sent debt collection on behalf of their clients who they do not name. They tell me to call a phone number which I will not call.

I received a phone call from 269-206-5859 at 10:59am EST on 4/30.

Voice said, "My name is Owen with CDL. We have left several messages for you that have been ignored. We are noting your refusal to discuss the issue and will now complete the asset investigation and include that report to our client. This is your last attempt to contact our client at 888-324-2185 regarding file number #3-93872."

Caller ID showed a number of 281-282-8160, calling several times a day from different numbers. I block them and then they call again from a different number. In message, they asked me to call back at phone number 888-324-2185. For days now, they say I have 24 hours to call back when they leave the voicemail, or I will be served. Obviously, 24 hours goes by and nothing happens, I just get another voicemail. I don't owe any debt, so this is obviously a scam.

Multi-caller plot

My first call from them said they had tried to contact me several times and now they were noting my refusal, and of I didn’t call back within 24 hours they’d serve me papers in-person. They’re second call was from a different person two days later saying that if I didn’t respond by the end of the day they would serve me papers. Then the next day, I got a call from the first guy but a different phone number saying again that I have 24 hours to respond until they serve me papers in person.

Someone called and left this voicemail - "My name is Danile with CDL. We have left several messages for you that have been ignored. We are noting tha tyour refulsa to discuss the issue and we'll now complete asset investigation and include that in our report to our client. This is your last attempt to contact our client at 888-308-7404 I called the number back and the person on the other end did not answer the phone by identifying with a business, just "hello" also wanted me to identify my personal information, which I didn't. He became angry and said that I would be served today.
I hung up.

Report from Leah and an Unkown Male

They left two voicemails one stating that I refuse to answer the first time, and that I had 24 hours to call back something about their client. That was October 3 2023 at 8:15 AM. The second voicemail stated that since my refusal to call back in that 24 hour deadline, they were going to do an “asset investigation.” According to Google that means they’re going to seize my bank account. Any funds that I have available to meter clients needs. That was today October 5 2023 at 3:23 AM

very vague attempt at debt collection?

I received a phone call from someone who left a message saying they were from CDL and that they had My address and my employers address and would be serving papers tomorrow. And if there were any questions call 888-308-7404 and give me a reference number. The collar also stated that if I did not call by the end of business day, they would serve papers. I did call the number and after ringing several times there was an answering machine with the message corporate office, leave your name and number, etc. so no company name, no specific debt amount or collector, everything was very vague. I believe this is an attempt at phishing.

Their first call, they left the polite message on my phone, my mother's, and my father's phone. When I didn't respond the next message said they may have to send papers from. Their "client", no response. Then they left another message stating my last 2 addresses and last 4 of my social. Called both of my parents also. My mom answered but wouldn't confirm info. Then they called my brother. Later on that daythey called my job, but now it was NR Mitigations & Associates for CDL letting me know that they will be coming onto the premises to serve papers and I can call them to arrange receiving the papers off the premises (so kind). I'm supposed to be served today or early tomorrow.. The number for the "client" was 888-308-7404

Contacted advised that their client would be sending a summons for me to my home address and that they need to be contacted or further action would be taken. Left the number 888-308-7404 to call back. Called the number and they asked me to identify my personal information, without identifying themselves, I refused. The person said “well our client will be taking you to court”. I asked who the client was the woman put me on hold and didn’t come back to the line. I hung up and called back. The phone line rang a long time and was finally answered by a man who just said “How can I help you” (no business name, etc). I ended the call.

Someone called me and left this voicemail “This message is being left for Joseph Deadland my name is Grace calling from CDL this message is being left to inform you after several attempts to reach you have failed and we have decided to flag you as a refusal please be advised we have a recorded conversation between you and our client would you giving a false promissory note for a voluntary resolution which came back as invalid you having to close of business today to contact our firm to avoid any further actions regarding your involvement telephone number to call is 888-4766293…” when I called back, a man answered and said that this was about a collection account for Jared jewelry which i had settled over a year ago. He said that this was from a couple years ago and that they had just let it go for a couple years (which was a red flag) when i told him i didnt have anything still on my credit report and that i would need something in writing sent in the mail he began getting argumentative at which point i told him im not going to argue about this and that they can send me something in the mail, he said “oh are we arguing? Because I thought we were having a conversation” and then he hung up on me. This is the phone number they called me on (612-249-8357)
