The scam call came from a local Amarillo number. A lady left a voicemail stating that I have a case and gave me a case number and told me to call back 1(855)217-8640. She didn’t say what company or anything. in her words,” She was instructed by her supervisor to call my employer and speak with my supervisor as it looks like my best place is to be located”. So, I called the number that was given and a guy by the name of John Baker, stated that he looked up the case number that I gave , and said the last 4 digits of my SSN, in which I verified. He said that his office and attorneys on behalf of a cash store, which was years ago that I went to has made a case of $165 to be paid or I will be summoned to court. My relative talked with him and she told me to hang up because it was suspicious. And I did. I read on an attorney said that if I felt like it was a scam I should assure to check information and check my credit reports. I reported all 3 of my credit reports to see if it was on my credit report, and it’s not showing anything from cash store.
