Cancel Hero Reports & Reviews (15)

I have cancelled Been Verified 3 times, however, I never signed up with Cancelhero for any of their services. My current bank statement indicates a $37.00 payment to them. I will contact the bank to dispute this transaction. What is this world coming to; it seems every other transaction is a SCAM. I am sick and tired of having to reconcile my accounts every other day.

These people took money out of my account to cancel a subscription and my subscription never got canceled

I am not really sure how I got on this site! I was trying to report something to my local tv station and somehow got on here! I didnt know I joined something until the next day. So I cancelled this crap and was charged for it.

Disqus would not send a confirmation for my email address so I clicked the cancel account link. A day later I get a notice from Cancel Hero that they would cancel my Disqus account for $37 fee. Since my email was not confirmed I figured the account was still active, so I paid the fee. Disqus was listed in the downdetector program to sign up with to join discussions. Disqus has removed channels from its service but did not notify downdetector users. Do not use either program to avoid this scam.

Disqus would not send me a verification for my email to join downdetector. I clicked on cancel account and a day later got a notice from Cancel Hero that they would completely cancel my disqus account. Since I was not able to verify my email I thought the account was still active and could not be cancelled by me. I paid the $37
they required to cancel my disqus account. Do not use downdetector or disqus
since disqus was necessary to join the downdetector discussions. I have never been required to pay a cancellation fee for any website. Disqus did not notify users they were removing channels or that downdetector was one of them. I was cheated out of $37. This looks like a hidden scam.

I don’t know what cancel hero I didn’t sign up for anything but was charged 37.00 on 6/30 I called my bank to dispute this charge

Trying to cancel subscription TV provider in my town. Subscriber took me to Cancel Hero off of their webpage. Looked associated so I paid $37 to cancel subscription.Provider says they are not affiliated with Cancel Hero. Complete SCAM ! BEWARE!

Cancel Hero's website says right on the site that they are not associated with any providers... "No. We are a third-party service provider that helps individuals cancel a variety of accounts and subscriptions. We are not directly associated with any of the vendors for which we offer our cancellation services"...

I should have check this site and read the other comments. I too was scammed by Cancelhero. It happened when canceling Blue Apron, an online food delivery business. When canceling, Cancelhero popped up and I assumed it was part of Blue Apron. The transaction cost $37. Later I found out that Blue Apron does not charge for cancelations. Now I'm fighting the charge with my credit card company. I'm having a difficult time trying to convince them that Cancehero is a fraudulent business. I hope my experience will prevent someone else from being victimized.

I received an email from Max at Cancel Hero representing themselves as Been Verified. I had cancelled my free 7-day trial membership through the Been Verified website, but this email from Cancel Hero said that my cancellation was "pending" and they would take care of it for me for a "convenience fee" of $37.00. I immediately contacted Been Verified and they gave me a confirmation number for my legitimate cancellation, as well as launched an inquiry of their own into the scam. Luckily I did not click on the "pay now" link, but I have opened a file through PayPal just in case a charge comes through from Cancel Hero. I am hoping Been Verified can hold them accountable for making customers think they must pay an additional amount to cancel a free trial membership.

When I was attempting to cancel a website that I had enrolled in, Cancelhero popped up. So I thought I was canceling this enrolled website through Cancelhero, when actually all I needed to do was send an email to the website I was trying to cancel to have it canceled.

Cancelhero, I was trying to cancel my subscription to bubblybelle and came across this website that said it could cancel it for a fee of $37.00. I already had paid for a product that I was trying to cancel before it shipped so I paid the $37.00 and found out the next day from bubblybelle that Cancelhero wasn't affiliated with their company so I got scammed and am out the $37.00. People are unbelievable these days.

CancelHero, contacted consumer stating they could cancel his weight watchers membership, he just need to pay $35 to cancel his subscription. After paying, he received an email stating his membership was canceled. The next day he received another email from CancelHero, asking for money for fees, and the information to his weight watchers account, such as email, password, birthday and address. The consumer called Weight Watchers to verify and was informed that the company was not associated with them and was a scam.
