Someone under the name of Linda Bullard posted on a local (208 Boise, Idaho) job site about looking for a house cleaner, willing to pay $25/hour. Which is the amount I charge for my business so I sent a message describing my interest and capabilities. She responded back wanting my email address (first red flag) and then sent me a huge drawn out message about how she’s moving from out of state and wants the house clean before she gets there and wants it cleaned 3 days a week. So knowing it was a scam I phished for as much information I could and played along with it until I got the check. I called the business on the check and double checked that she is NOT an employee. The check also wasn’t signed by someone under the name Linda, it was signed by a completely different person.
