Type of a scam Debt Collections
I called the caller ID number, and they stated that the issue is regarding a judgment and provided me with the 877-655-6073.
I spoke with someone who said they were a mediator with B&P Law, who had the last 4 of my SSN and address. They said that I had an unpaid credit card back in 2018 and I owe $2.939.12. They said that I could settle the debt over the phone and if I didn't, I would be served with a judgement within 72 hours and would need to go to court. He would not provide me with the specific credit card, just provide a list of possible credit card companies. I explained there is no way this could be true as I have had good credit since that time. He said they sent me a letter 45 days ago and I asked if I could try to find it and he said no, if I ended the call I would be given a judgement. I said that I don't agree with that, because this is not possible, and he said, "I'm not going to argue with you" We ended the call with him saying "good luck in court"
This has to be a scam. There is no way this is accurate. i would never have been able to receive a mortgage if I had defaulted on a credit card.
