This is not the first time someone has tried to scam me via text message pretending to be my boss. Last year, I was contacted by someone requesting me to send gift cards as an end of year bonus. This time when a strange number messaged me pretending to be my boss, I did not respond and immediately contacted my boss to confirm it is not him. Then I decided to report it here.

I received a text to a number I never give out. They asked if I was busy and used my bosses name in the signature line. I said I am and to give me a call. They said they are in a meeting and can't make it and they are good with texts, which my boss would just call if they needed something.
