I wanted to donate a family owned boat to a good cause and Boats for Veterans seemed perfect. I filled out the form and was almost immediately contacted via text message only. The message stated "Would it be okay if we communicate via text message? We find it to be the most efficient way to stay in touch and avoid playing phone tag". They asked for details of the boat along with pictures. The next message I received was about a specific person's name will be reaching out to me to arrange the pickup. They claim to handle the DMV and title but when I asked, I was told to just transfer it to the person picking up the boat. This raised too many red flags so I started searching for reviews about Boats for Veterans and was alarmed at what I found. Just like the another person, I too found my boat and the pictures I had sent on Ebay. The seller is named "onedollarboats". Read the negative feedback, this is the scam they pull.
