I was texted and called multiple times asking to schedule an interview when I have not applied for a job. Additionally, there does not appear to be any business by that name in my area. Checking their website, there are a lot of obvious grammar errors...and no full address, just a street name. It claims to be founded in St. Louis, Missouri, but lists a street in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

I recieved a text stating

" Hello Don I am Kelsey from Blue Wave Events. We reviewed your application nad would like to schedule a meeting over Zoom with our hiring Director. Are you available tomorrow at 9am CST?

I've been applying for jobs as a recent graduate and found a marketing position on LinkedIn from Blue Wave and I applied. I was really excited when I landed an interview from "Kelsey" sending me a text message (which I thought was very strange, I personally think an email is more professional). I was sent an address that didn't lead to a specific job site, despite the job being in person and was asking via text if I was able to work full time and commute. Their website and social media don't go into anything specific and is extremely vague. Obviously, these were red flags as everything seemed off. After looking online, I found a Reddit thread of people explaining how the EXACT same situation has happened to them in state of Missouri and Minnesota being contacted by "Kelsey". I'm very glad I looked into the problem and am hopefully avoiding any potential issues.

responded to an ad on linked in for a marketing manager, received a text for a zoom interview, there were 20 people on the zoom, then called regarding a second interview, read from a script to me, then scheduled the second zoom -- they text me to confirm the interview at 7:45 am and then at our appt time i received a text at 8:45am an hour later saying "the position has been filled". There are many reports on reddit about this exact scam going on for over a year now.
