I applied for a side job advertising to have my vehicle wrapped with the name and logo of the Bliss milk chocolate company. Some time later I received a registered rigid envelope with a letter with instructions to deposit an enclosed check for $3,749.22. Part of this money was to be paid to a third party for wrapping my vehicle. The envelope came from North Carolina (Schaeffler Group USA, Inc), the check came from a company in Irvine, CA and the check is supposed to be drawn at a bank in Newport Beach. The instructions directed me to deposit the check into my bank account and to immediately contact this person to confirm the deposit as he was supposed to approve the payment. I can only assume that he would later request some sort of payment to the installers, but my bank would probably reject my deposit and then likely freeze my account for investigation.
