This company represented themselves to be an official government website on which I could file my BOIR report, a newly required report. I recently noticed that they charged me $349 each for two of my entities. I have no way to contact them and have received no receipt or explanation of what this charge is for but I did NOT agree to this charge.

A Google search uncovered that there are MANY people like me complaining of the same program and there website has no contact number and not even a page with a LLC or info explaining who owns the site. There is now a statement that they are not affiliated with the US government but that was NOT there last year when I filed my BOIR report with them.

I am now disputing both charges with my bank.

When trying to file the Beneficial Ownership Information Report (BOIR) directly with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), on Thursday, December 19, 2024, a website sponsored by Google, BOIR.COM popped up and offered the filing service. At no point BOIR.COM identified as a private company completely unaffiliated to FinCEN during the registering process, nor informed the user that the need to file before January 1st has been halted by courts, thus making it non urgent. After the registering process (which is basically collecting vital information regarding myself and my LLC) the site takes you to a paying portal without disclosing the amount that will be charged to the user. Assuming that it was FinCEN, I included my payment information considering that, being a government organization, it would be a reasonable fee. The fee was 347 dollars for basically doing nothing! I immediately went back to the site only to find out that way below one of their internal pages, they disclose in small font that they area private business not affiliated to the government and they just provide the "filing" service that is barely different than the one FinCEN offers for free! Because of the holiday season, so far a have not been able to block the payment on my credit card, while their website only offers a non-clickable email address.

Website impersonating Government website, takes personal and business identity information, asks for bank account information for a payment for the BOIR filing- but the real filing is free and this is just them taking money from you.

they are collecting money up front weather or not you actually file a report with them - i entered my info thinking the payment would be processed at the end of the transaction, but was processed up front. I called and emailed to try and get my money back because I did not end up filing, given they were trying to pass off like the actual government reporting website. The actual government does not charge a fee for the BOI filing. They are not returning my calls or emails.
