This person came to our door for tree service. We talked and decided to have. It was for cutting tree limbs and stump grinding. On the business card it said: Tree Removal, Stump Grinding, Gutter Cleaning, and Flowers. Also on the card it said: Licensed and Insured. 12 Years Experience. The person said he lived in Huntsville. He gave us a price of $800.00. He said he could cut the tree limbs for $400.00 and $400.00 for the stump. We said OK. He also give us a price of $1200.00 for a tree to be removed. He started to cut a few tree limbs, and our mistake was giving him a payment of $800.00 for the limbs and stump, with the tree removal to come at a later date. He said he needed the work, and we know how bad things were the the COVID-19 closings. Anyway, we gave him the $800.00 dollars. After a few tree limbs being cut, he said he would have to go and rent a stump grinder. That was the last we saw of him. I tried calling him, but no answer. He never came back. It was cash we had given him, which was a very bad, but we felt we were doing good to help someone out. We were out $800.00 dollars, but we learned a very good lesson. We wanted to let you know about this so other people would be aware.
