Tried to sign up for a service to look up information on a car. Links sent to me by email never worked. Subsequently the company continued to charge $28.79 monthly because they said the initial signup went through even though I want able to access the account they said they set up for me. The emails they sent just gave an error code when trying to access the account. I thought the transaction didn't go through since they weren't allowing me to access the account. Found BVC charges on my credit card 5 months later.

Those seeking to perform a background check should avoid a company called BeenVerified.com. Its alias are www.backgroundchecks.com, www.truthfinder.com, and www.peoplelooker.com. The way to know it's running aliases is that the website pages are identical, except for the brand logo. It also has fake articles around the web which purport to offer comparisons between competitors, but the comparisons are between the same company posing as different services.

I came to understand this *after* I tried to order services as a new customer but this company claimed I was already a customer yet I was unable to log in. By that time, I had already submitted my CC info. I began to examine some of what I thought were their competitors and quickly noticed they all used identical website designs. I quickly locked my CC to avoid any debits. The fact that there have been hundreds of complaints against this company confirmed my suspicions.
