My mom saw a Facebook ad for a really amazing deal on a kitchen stand mixer from Bed Bath & Beyond. The website looked legitimate with the correct logo and had a "Trusted Store" marker with a green check mark shield logo that said certified secure, 100% issue free, verified business, data protected. Showed 325 five star detailed reviews with photos. The item page looked legitimate with a proper description, different sections, multiple photos and color options. It said limited time only and had a count down before the sale ended. There have been multiple reports of scammers creating these ads to take advantage of Bed Bath & Beyond's physical stores going out of business and use website urls and ads that look like the real thing (including their actual logo). Thankfully I was here and saw the url, unfortunately my mom had already purchased the item. She had to cancel her card and dispute the claim. No order confirmation email was ever even sent. Please be cautious of any social media ads. Bed Bath & Beyond still exists as a functioning online retailer so any sales that seem too good to be true, definitely are.
